The Role:
1. To develop, deploy and manage Business Management System, in accordance with Customer, Regulatory and Business needs.

2. To develop and maintain a QHSE Governance system that includes a programme of internal auditing, management review and key performance indicators so as to facilitate achievement of business goals and to assure compliance to customer standards.

3. To interface with Customers and external bodies and lead responses to external audit requests.

4. To coordinate QHSE improvement plans across the business, driving continuous improvement and embedding Assurance across the organisation.

5. To coordinate QHSE training and awareness plans.

6. To coordinate QHSE internal corrective and preventive action activities and assure effective and efficient close out of actions.


Key Activities / Decision Areas

• Development, support and maintenance the QHSE management systems, policies and procedures to assure continuing compliance to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
• Development of QHSE management systems, policies and procedures with support of the HSE function, to achieve OSHAS 18001 compliance.
• Development and maintenance of electronic QHSE Management systems

• Develop and manage the cross functional internal audit team.
• Coordinate Management review activities
• Assemble and report monthly QHSE KPIs to the Senior HSE Manager.

• Coordinate the audit agenda and prepare the business for regular Customer and regulatory audits.
• Lead Business response to Customer and regulatory audit actions.
• Liaise with internal and external customers on QHSE concerns.

• Coordinate monthly review and reporting of progress against the annual QHSE improvement plans.
• Lead improvement projects in support of Business needs.
• Undertake project work in support of QHSE department on topics such as tender inputs, QHSE improvement plan development, procedure writing, problem solving, investigation reporting, audit and governance programmes etc.
• Act as in-house council to provide guidance and solutions to internal functions on Business System matters.

• Develop annual QHSE training and awareness plans addressing Executive training through to monthly toolbox talks.
• Deliver Q & HSE training, workshops etc using the QHSE network and service providers as appropriate.

• Coordinate internal Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) Capture, Progress Monitoring, Follow-up and close out reviews.
• Respond to customer and 3rd Party audit CAPA requests, assist with actions plans, and ensure timely CAPA closeout.


Essential role related knowledge, technical skills, qualifications and experience

Essential

• A good influencer, somebody who is able to work effectively with cross functional colleagues and customers to achieve business goals.
• Technically competent and able to use own initiative to provide solutions to problems.
• Systematic, thorough with strong analytical skills
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14000 and OSHAS 18001
• Experience of developing and implementing processes and procedures.
• Lead auditor experience
• Experience leading investigations / problem solving
• Experience of delivering bespoke Training Material
• High level of competence in MS Office products

Desirable
• Chartered Q or HSE status
• NEBOSH Certificate
• Knowledge of Quality tools and systems eg Six Sigma, Lean, EFQA etc.
• Ability to travel
