The Company:
Our client has been established for over 20 years locally and is focused on delivering design solutions to the nuclear industry, specialising in the design of mechanical handling plant and equipment, the design and installation of plant control systems and the provision of support to plant safety reviews.

The Role:
The QHSE Engineer is responsible for primarily supporting bids as required, but day to day be part of a growing EHSQ team supporting the business, including the responsibilities below

Production of the QHSE commentary for the tender document.

Response to specific relevant tender questions as required as part of tender return.

Preparation of hours estimates for QHSE to complete the project programme.

Completion within tender budget.

The QHSE Engineer/Advisor will be establishing the risks, exclusions and assumptions to be included within registers.

Liaison (through Bid Manager) with the client on technical matters throughout the tender period as required.

The QHSE Engineer/Advisor will Input to the Scope of Work and associated Work Breakdown Structure (with Bid Manager).

Agreeing Make / Buy decisions with other bid team members (through Bid leader).

Preparation of QHSE estimates.

Response to specific tender questions as and when required.

Materials estimate through valid quotations from approved suppliers (Procurement).

Assessment of risks and compilation of appropriate contingency will also be involved in the QHSE Engineer/Advisors role

Identification of QHSE risks, exclusions and assumptions for inclusion in register.

Participation in final tender approval


Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The QHSE Engineer/Advisor will have Tender preparation experience in a similar engineering environment.

Ability to understand a variety of engineering requirements, client specifications and technical requirements and ensure that the key issues are adequately catered for in the bid.

Working knowledge of electronic data management packages (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint).

Sound understanding of the interaction between the contract deliverables, the estimating process and the requirements of the P6 resource codes.

Liaison with key suppliers to ensure best value is obtained (where necessary).

Good oral and written communication skills to ensure submission of a compliant, concise and well-presented tender document.

Excellent time management skills.

Degree, HNC or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline.

Training will be provided in the job specific skills that are required.

Full, UK driving licence.
