The Company:
Our client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions the transmission and distribution industry

The Role:
My client is looking to recruit an experience Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer who will take ownership of the operations within the scope of the Manufacturing based business in Workington, Cumbria. The role holder will take the lead in maintaining the local requirements of ISO 9001, ISO18001 and ISO 14001 management systems. In addition the role holder will take responsibility for the management of site changes, associated projects and defined site activities in relation to QHSE best practice and in accordance as agreed with site management.

Key duties will include:

 Acting as the Health Safety and Environmental Technical specialist for all site activities
 Acting as lead auditor in the management of internal audits
 Supporting line managers in conducting risk assessments, risk assessment reviews and pre-change risk assessments for site activities (inc NPI)
 Monitoring the corrective action tracking tool to ensure timely completion of CAR’s and their corrective preventative actions are closed. Analyse and present data in a graphical template.
 Driving the Incident Reporting Programme and RCA for non-conforming items in manufacturing.
 Monitoring incident investigations, identifying root causes and ensuring timely close out of preventative and corrective actions on both short term and long term controls. Analyse and present data.
 Ensuring that the requirements of ISO/IEC 80079-34 (ATEX) are maintained and improved accordingly.
 Gathering and analysing all management system inputs, identifying potential objectives and targets and implement associated management programmes.
 Supporting the management team in the Health Safety and Environmental committee meetings. Organise meetings, communications and monitor legal compliance.
 Take the role of the sites' local sustainability representative.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
• Membership of IOSH and IEMA an advantage
• HNC Qualified (in Business or Engineering subject)
• Lead Auditor Qualification
• Have proven experience within a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of a wide range of engineering practices
• Energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated.
• Good people skills.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience in ATEX and Pressure Equipment Directives (PED)
• Experience in Oil & Gas Quality Management Systems
• Knowledge of SAP
• Knowledge of Lotus Notes
