The Role:
Pressure Vessels Group 1
Location: UAE
Planned start NOV 2016 Planned Finish 5th DEC 2016
• Must have >10y experience in pressure vessel manufacture/inspection (Forgings, Castings, PWHT, Distortion Control Hard surface overlay and critical dimensional checking )
• Must have experience with ASME ‘U’
• Qualified welding inspector (Equivalent to CSWIP 3.1)
• NDT Level 1 or above for RT, UT, MT
• Must have experience with Hydrostatic testing
• Able to demonstrate experience and inspection and troubleshooting with regards to protective coatings

1. Summary

Vendor Quality Surveillance (VQS) is provided to verify that the supplier is able to demonstrate that the material/equipment meets the quality requirements as specified by the engineer (inclusive of the deliverables set by the contractual requirements) and the process commences at purchase order award until appropriate releases have been done to enable delivery. VQS primarily interfaces with engineering and expediting (other than normal internal procurement interfaces).

An intimate knowledge of applicable codes and standards and a capability to monitor compliance with inspection and test plans is of the essence. The VQS Inspector is concerned with physical quality inspections performed by the Vendor at the manufacture facility. Well developed planning skills and strong interpersonal skills are required to ensure compliance with requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

Attend if required, the pre-inspection alignment meeting

Work within and following the Vendor Quality Surveillance practices and procedures Ensure that the data being recorded and reported is complete and accurate

Participate if requested in the development of the Acceptance Criteria specific to the items being supplied.

Participate as required in the review of approved vendors quality plans and procedures

Monitor the vendor compliance to the agreed Inspection and Test Plan(s), by attendance at the defined Witness (W) and Hold (H) points.

Identify and manage observations (OBS) to close out Raise NCRs and participate in the close-out thereof

Respond to all Notification(s) to Attend Inspection (NAI).

Interface with vendor, client and project members regarding quality and technical issues

Attend performance tests, final inspections and release inspections as required by the agreed Inspection & Test Plan(s) (ITP)

Establish and maintain the project quality documents in a detailed, accurate and timely manner i.e. registers, inspection reports, inspection release, correspondence, NCRs, OBS, Outstanding Work lists etc.

3. Qualifications and Experience


Relevant technical and skills qualification matched to the inspection and test activities being performed

Appropriate qualifications and statutory licenses to undertake inspection activities as may be required.

High degree of technical aptitude and familiarity with various materials and manufacturing processes.

Demonstrated experience with quality control and quality assurance process and implementation

Familiar with ISO 9001.

Competent to witness Non Destructive and laboratory Tests as may be required Proven track record

Excellent understanding of project execution, especially in an EPCM environment with a strong materials management focus

Excellent written communication and computer skills Computer literate using Microsoft suite of software.

The competency and ability to assist the supplier through demonstration how to improve their methodologies and ability to improve quality.
