The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
A Quality & Metering Technician is required to work on a FIFO basis to South Central Queensland working on a permanent basis. The Quality & Metering technician will ensure the gas and water metering and quality measurement devices are maintained and managed according to the business metering standards and guidelines. The scope of the work includes all water and gas measurement and quality equipment which may be located throughout the production network which spans from the well head to the export pipeline, inclusive of ancillary, water equipment and control room equipment.

Achieving a safe day to day operation within the boundaries of the work management systems, the responsibility for reducing risk and ensuring the compliance of company safety policies will be yours. A commitment to achieving high yet cost effective equipment availability and reliability is expected of the incumbent.

Specifically, you will be responsible for executing Preventative Maintenance activities, Calibrations and Validations on Gas & Water Metering and Analyser Equipment and ensure that all of the Fiscal, Custody and Allocation Metering Systems across all assets are maintained to the required accuracy and engineering standards. Executing corrective maintenance tasks on plant and equipment, safely and effectively, you will inspect, test, adjust and repair Metering & Analyser equipment to satisfy appropriate governing standards.

Maintaining the maintenance registers and databases for Operations and site specific equipment and systems, you will maintain Validation Certificates and Registers of Metering Equipment and Gas Analysers and update changes into the database accordingly. Ensuring compliance to Hazardous Area Electrical requirements are always met when performing maintenance, you will observe, monitor and supervise contract staff working onsite during peak periods such as Turnarounds and assist in developing SWMS and SOP to ensure safe execution of all relevant I&E activities.

The Quality and Metering Technician will assist with the development of the shutdown I&E scope of work with respect to Metering and Quality equipment and assist with development of the Job Plan and labour requirements for shutdown QMI&E tasks

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
With an E&I Trade background and experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, or Associate Degree in Controls and Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent qualification), you will have demonstrated experience in a metering capacity and be competent with the maintenance of electrical equipment in Hazardous Areas. You will have DCS & PLC exposure as well as proven experience in the use of a CMMS and have Permit to Work experience.

Advance experience with Daniel 500 GC, Daniel S600 Flow computers and SICK USM will be desirable.
