Our client is an International world renowned EPC (Engineering, procurement, construction) company. They have chosen to fabricate LNG plant production and storage modules as well as associated piping and racks in Lumut

The Role:
The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for the, quality management, maintenance and verification of implementation of subcontract and direct hire construction activities . The Quality Assurance Engineer will be required to perform and/or participate in audits or surveillances of Field Engineering, Field Procurement, and jobsite related Construction activities, and subcontractors as defined by project and contractual requirements.The Quality Assurance Engineer will be expected to become familiar with the OG&C and project Quality Management System and assist the Site Quality Manager in performing day to day quality related activities. The Quality Assurance Engineer will also be required to plan and implement work using independent judgment and prior experience in the quality area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform planned audits and surveillances of direct hire and subcontractor activities to ensure compliance to Project requirements.
2. Plan and implement work independently, or with minimal supervision from the Site Quality Manager, in the preparation, performance and documentation of audits, surveillances and other activities.
4. Monitoring and reporting on the status of implementation of the Project Quality Management System and its effectiveness.
5. Identifying and recording quality problems and opportunities for improvement, and initiating or recommending solutions.
6. Review and status subcontractor or supplier quality document submittals (Quality Plans, Test & Inspection Plans, procedures), to ensure effective controls are in place in key areas.
7. Interface with management and Client personnel as needed during resolution of quality issues or during Client audits.
8. Work closely with other groups and support timely reviews of documents or issues requiring QA action.
9. Foster a work environment that promotes safety, quality, openness, trust, communication, team-work and customer satisfaction.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Technical knowledge in the application of engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, inspection, testing, certification or operation practices, sufficient to comprehend specified requirements is desired.
Engineering degree from an accredited university is desired. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
Familiarity with industry codes and standards related to testing is highly desired (ACI, AS, ASTM , API, ANSI/ASME, AWS, NACE, IEEE, NFPA etc).
Experience in the use of personal computers and Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) is required.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with others is required.
Candidates must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications and review and comment on documents generated.


REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates for this position should have experience of engineering or construction working experience in Quality Control in oil and gas projects or a similar environment. Additional multi-discipline experience: civil, structural, welding, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and/or control systems discipline experience is desired.

POSITION SKILLS:

Advanced Quality Assurance auditor experience and familiarity with ISO 9001 criteria is required.

Expert Quality Assurance auditor experience and familiarity with ISO 9001 criteria is required.
