The Company:
Our Client is a world leader in Air Pollution Control, Pneumatic and Heavy Duty Scraper Conveying. 90% of their turnover is exported and 85% of purchases are from outside the United Kingdom.

The Role:
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for all interactions between the Customers, and the clients and suppliers to the client, relating to the coordination of all Quality Assurance Technical documentation ensuring that the customer receives the correct level of QA support in-line with our contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

The position is to support our contract managers to ensure that we fully comply with all requirements of the Quality Control Plan for each and every project

Key responsibilities of this position are to:-

• First point of contact for Quality Assurance activities
• Co-ordination with third party inspection agencies for on-site inspections globally
• Create Quality Control Plans
• Control QA documentation from suppliers, initial requirements and expediting.
• Review QA documentation once received from suppliers
• Compile complete QA documentation packages for all projects in line with customer requirements.
• Create inspection schedules for projects.
• Produce Microsoft Excel based Monthly Report Pack for use in Company Management reporting
• Compile QA documentation packages for Sales orders, where required.
• Setting up new suppliers on SAP
• Leasing with QA consultant for ISO 9001 matters
• Daily interactions with all company departments in order to retrieve and progress required information relating to the Spares and Service activities

As well as the above key objectives, you will be expected to carry out other duties, which can reasonably be assessed as part of your role.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bsc / HNC / HND in an Engineering Discapline.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Familiarity with the ERP/MRP (SAP) electronic business system purchasing and MRP modules, an advantage
The necessary overview of company products to enable successful execution of the role
The necessary overview of software packages used by the company such as Lotus Notes, Adobe Acrobat or Nitro, Win ZIP as required.

Core Skills

A good understanding of QA documentation in the engineering field
Pressure Codes
Welding Codes, Welder Qualifications, Weld Procedures
Creation of QCP's
NDT Testing Systems
Experience of documentation packages for customers.
Good analytical and problem solving skills
A basic engineering aptitude, which will be developed regarding the company product range
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (verbally and written)
Ability to manage one’s own work schedule
Good time management
General IT literacy.


Previous experience in a Spares and/or Service environment and the use of an MRP system would be an advantage.
