The Company:
Our client is the world's largest exploration and production company with operations in over 29 countries. In Australia our client is leading the way in both upstream and downstream oil and gas projects with further development projects in the pipeline.

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join a leading Oil & Gas operator here in Perth. The successful individual will have the ability to enable safe, reliable and efficient operations across an active project portfolio. This company has globally adopted OE and HSE Excellence Frameworks, the Quality Assurance Supervisor will ensure that all processes needed for the Australian business, integrated operations support "IOS" quality management system are established, implemented and maintained.

This position will lead and/or direct the required quality resources required to maintain the quality management system. The position will report to IOS top management on the performance of the quality management system in relation to the OE and HSE Frameworks and any need for improvement. The position will also ensure the promotion of awareness of end user requirements for quality throughout the IOS and Operations organisations.

The main core accountabilities for this position will include, but not be limited to:
• Owns the IOS Quality Management Plan and associated management system procedures.
• Technical Authority for all quality related matters.
• Performs all quality strategic planning and resourcing (shutdown, campaigns and projects).
• Performs all quality assurance related to contract establishment and management.
• Performs all quality assurance related to equipment/commodity vendors and recommends approval for “approved vendor listing” (AVL’s).
• Owns all quality technical standards.
• Participate in contractor/vendor tender assessment audits and provide expert input to the company teams in the quality and technical potential of these bidders.
• Accountable for quality requirements in SAP catalogue.
• Accountable for quality requirements in material requisitions for direct purchase arrangements.
• Owns the “Supplier Quality Surveillance” processes and contract.
• Owns the “Inspection Release & Certification” (IRC) process.
• Owns the “Non-Conformance Reporting” (NCR) process.
• Provided oversight on goods receipt/bagging/tagging processes.
• Processes “supplier deviation requests & queries” (SDRQ’s) and “technical queries” (TQ’s).
• Interface for projects “front end planning” phases including “quality strategies”, development of project specific quality management plans, resource plans, etc.
• Interface and assistance to engineering and maintenance to perform “equipment criticality assessments”.
• Interface for product recalls and claims due to quality issues.
• Ensures that implementation quality processes meet the needs of the business unit (work pack development, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and handover processes including final verification “dossiers” as part of pre-start up safety reviews and regulator acceptance processes).
• Ensures all required project quality records are compiled and placed in records management in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Provides input for inclusion for weekly and monthly reports.
• Captures project lessons learned from the outcomes of internal audits and reviews, lessons learned and incident findings. Applies continuous improvement techniques to further improve the integrity of equipment and efficiency of the inspection processes

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in a suitable engineering discipline eligible for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia. Suitable engineering disciplines include but are not limited to Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of oil and gas industry codes and standards for the manufacture of equipment (including pressure vessels, piping, valves, structural fabrication, electrical and controls equipment, safety equipment, flexible hoses etc.).
• Demonstrated supervisory and project management skills (particularly planning and cost management).
• Demonstrated computer skills, use of MS Office programs.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of the Australian and international standards for quality management systems (including relevant product specific quality management systems).

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Australian/International Work Health and Safety legislation in respect of requirements for plant and machinery integrity and the role of quality control in ensuring integrity.
• Post graduate qualifications (certificates or similar) in non-destructive testing, metallurgy, failure analysis, root cause analysis.
• Formal qualification in auditing.
