The Role:
The Company:
A Major international oil and gas operator seeks QA/QC representatives to work New Orleans. Projects are Gulf of Mexico.

The Role:
The Field Quality Team located in Houston, Texas is looking for experienced drilling tool quality personnel for GoM rig activities, with the goal of reducing rig Non Productive Time (NPT). This position will have daily phone and face to face communication with client dedicated Third Party personnel, client Third Party Coordinator and Quality Management Engineers. The position will be supervised on a day to day basis by the GoM Quality Management Engineer – Drilling Tools and will report to the Field Quality Team Lead located in Houston, Texas.

The candidate review process will consist of resume review, face to face interview and written test on DS-1 and drilling tool knowledge.

This is a long term position and is part of the new client Field Quality QA/QC model.

Responsibilities:
•Setting a clear leadership example and promoting a high degree of HSE awareness among project stakeholders
•Understand and adhere to the client safety
•Manage daily activities of Third Party personnel
•Provide technical support to QA/QC Third Party personnel that are monitoring the inspection, assembly and function testing of various drilling rental/running tools
•Review work order with third party personnel at vendor site and review specific equipment/tool requirements using well data
•Ensure latest quality plan is being used at vendor work sites and that third party personnel are fully engaged and aware of our requirements
•Become intimate with well data through meetings with well engineers, reviewing tool lists, reviewing well bore schematic, attend DWOP, attend rig morning calls, review 7 day forecast
•Daily review of third party personnel reports
•Highlight non-conformances and opportunities for improvement to Quality Management Engineer to be addressed at Quality Improvement Process meetings

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Minimum of 5 years of relevant drilling industry experience.
•Minimum of 2 years experience managing third party surveillance activities.
•Expertise in drilling specialty tools including: Mud Motors, Turbines, Reamers, MWD/LWD, Rotary Steerables, BHA Circulation Tools, Safety Valves, Jars, Fishing Tools, Slips, Elevators, Spiders, Bails, Cement Heads, Liner and Casing Hanger Running Tools, Wellhead Running Tools, Expandable Casing Running Tools and Surge Reduction or Flow Back Tools.
•Strong understanding of NDT methods MPI, UT, LP and EMI.
•Ability to organize and present data to drilling team and quality management.
•Experience working directly with Drilling Engineers and Superintendents
•Experienced with reading and interpreting DS-1 Fourth Edition, Volume3, API Specification 7-1, 7-2, 8C, RP8B and 7K.
•Strong understanding of NDT methods MPI, UT, LP and EMI. ASNT SNT-TC-1A certification preferred.
•Strong report writing skills with proficiency in MS Office application
