The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a QC Inspector for an Oil & Gas Client to be based in Azerbaijan

Duration: 12 months rolling contract
Day Rate: Negotiable – Net paid deal
Rotation: 6/2
Accommodation/Flights/Per diem – Provided

The Quality Control Inspector (Steel) is responsible for providing assurance that all steel fabrication aspects of the SCV build are in accordance with approved drawings, technical specification, class, shipyard and good industry practices.
Attend tool box talks, ensure that the work is being done in safe manner and appropriate PPE is used and quality is delivered. STOP work in case found any unsafe activities and write safety observation card or equivalent.
Provide technical support to QC Inspectors and Contractors related to project quality objectives, codes, standards and specification requirements and interpretations
Confirmation that Contractors are implementing work in accordance with their Quality Management Plan and project specifications.
Perform daily surveillance and measure compliance to Project Specifications, Procedures and Contractor’s ITP’s.
Prepare reports for all inspections and identify areas of concern or opportunities for improvements.
Attend all inspections such as after blasting substrate profile check, salt level check, DFT check and final visual check as required by specs.
Attend meetings as advised by Lead Engineers & Site Reps.
Review material certificates for Project Compliance.
Raw materials inspection including Ferrite scope examination to cover project specific requirements as required
Ensure equipment is installed correctly as stated on the drawings.
Witness WQT, PQT and mechanical testing at various laboratories as may be required.
Participate in production walks and punch clearance.
Verify that reported non-conformances have been corrected and preventive actions are taken.
Review completion certificate with regards to mechanical / construction completion for compliance to project specifications, procedures and contractor’s ITPs.
Review of all Contractors' MDR process and progress of record assembly in accordance with project requirements for each subcontract package.
Deputize for other QC inspectors in their absence.
Issue non-conformance reports if warranted.

Support the Lead Construction Engineers in implementing the project quality objectives as determined by the Lead Engineers and the Project Quality Plan.
Verify that the Construction Contractors documented systems and project specified requirements are adhered to.
Ensure safe and effective work practices
Ensure Quality procedures and hold points are attended and documented
Ensure delays are highlighted to project management, and where applicable, resolution required to ensure continued progress

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering degree (2-year program)
NACE II or CSWIP Painting Inspector Grade 2/3
NDT Level II in MT, PT, UT & RT (Must have RT Film Interpretation experience)
Quality Assurance experience
Basic Safety training

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
BS Mechanical Engineering
Documented Lead Auditor
15 years of experience in the shipbuilding industry
5 years working as QC inspector in the shipbuilding industry
