The Company:
Our Client’s engineering division, has been a leader in the design of drilling facilities for offshore platforms worldwide for over 30 years. The company’s 700-strong workforce provides a range of engineering services from pre-project and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) through detail design, construction support, hook-up and commissioning.

The Role:
Purpose Of Job: To provide quality management support services to projects and contracts.
To promote the implementation and continual improvement of the Business Management System (BMS), and the maintenance of the Group ISO 9001 certification.

Area(s) of Responsibility: as directed by QA/QC Manager.

Key Tasks ·         Undertake project / contract assignments as directed by the QA/QC Manager.
·         Ensure that appropriate project / contract management systems are established and documented.
·         Develop and maintain project / contract specific procedures and associated documentation, as required.
·         Ensure all project / contract personnel are aware of the requirements of the project quality plan and implement.
·         Promote awareness, understanding and use of the BMS within assigned projects.
·         Develop and maintain an annual audit and review programme for each project / contract assignment.
·         Ensure the timely completion of actions arising from audit findings, customer complaints and other sources.
·         Review engineering deliverables and participate in equipment criticality assessments
·         Provide quality management input to supplier evaluation and selection, including: pre-qualification assessments, tender evaluation, quality appraisals.
·         Review supplier documentation including quality plans, inspection and test plans, inspection and test procedures, and manufacturing records.
·         Identify the scope and level of material, equipment and fabrication inspection commensurate with the assessed risks, ensuring customer, statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
·         Identify inspection resource needs and co-ordinate inspection assignments with selected inspection agency, ensuring the nominated specialist inspector meets the necessary competence requirements.
·         Monitor the execution of inspection assignments to ensure all expediting, progress measurement and verification activities are carried out in accordance with the specified requirements, including the control of costs and the quality of reporting.
·         Undertake inspection assignments when appropriate and deemed competent.
·         Liaise with client’s quality assurance personnel and appointed verification body.
·         Produce reports on project / contract quality performance and perform investigations of quality management failures.

Primary Responsibilities:
Safety
·         Familiarise themselves with the Health & Safety Policy and take all reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of themselves and persons likely to be affected by their acts or omissions, as required under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
·         Ensure that the Health & Safety Policy is fully implemented and adhered to by all persons under their authority.
·         Monitor attitude towards safety.
·         Contribute where appropriate to the implementation of the annual HSE Plans and the achievement of the stated objectives and targets.

Financial
·         Liaise with Project Manager in formulating the project quality assurance / quality control budget and exercise financial controls in use of expenditure.

Business Development
·         Provide functional manager with input data for pre-qualifications and tenders.
·         Support Project Manager with providing QA/QC presentations to clients and internally as required.

Departmental Development
·         Assist development of interface co-ordination between engineering, procurement and QA/QC.

Systems and Processes
·         Contribute to establishing efficient working practices for the QA/QC function.

People
·         Demonstrate high standards of ethical behaviour and integrity.
