The Role:
The QE will be expected to:
• The application of a rigorous Quality assurance process throughout all phases of procurement.
• Assurance that the appropriate Technical and Quality requirements are stated within all purchase orders and where possible RFQ’s (Request for Quotes)
• Assurance that the agreed Quality requirements are adhered to by the Vendors/manufacturers
• Ensure the required documentation is supplied and filed within the Operations and Small Project’s filing system.
• Guidance and support with respect to the Operations Representative with regards to the Technical and Quality requirements and the completion of the relevant supporting documents where required, e.g.
• TSS - Technical Specification Requirements
• POQR - Purchase Order Quality Requirements
• TDR - Technical Document Requirements
Where the above documents are not warranted due to simple requirements, the QE shall also identify any specific documentation requirements for the spare parts being purchased, e.g. ATEX certification.
• Where required, the selection of competent and capable inspection personnel to complete the required work scope and deliver the quality objectives.
• Provide a technical link with the supplier/manufacturer’s to ensure any questions or queries are resolved in an expedient manner whilst maintaining compliance requirements
• Undertake Supplier Inspection visits when required/as requested by/agreed with the QM
• In conjunction with the QCC, review and mark up inspection activities/requirements to submitted Inspection and Test Plans.
• Review Suppliers Despatch Dossiers prior to release
• Assist the QCC in the vetting of Contracted Vendor Inspectors to ensure that they are competent to complete the require work scope, including attendance of Pre-production meetings at suppliers/manufacturer’s facilities
• Review all visit reports submitted by Field Inspectors and distribute as required.
• Liaise with other groups (e.g. Engineering) to establish standards /specifications and to assist in resolving problems and issues with the correct parties.
• Where required, coordinate the raising of non-conformance reports, deviation/concession requests, track these to closure and ensure, where applicable these are included in Despatch Dossiers
• Produce clear and concise monthly progress reports relating to the Operational Spares status.
• Liaise with the QCC with respect to the requirements for Vendor Inspection activities and report on the budget for Contracted inspection activities where this is required
• Report on quality and progress to the QM and QCC on progress highlighting areas of concern.
• Liaises with the Certifying Authority and/or Independent Inspection Authority as required/necessary.
• Plan / action close out activities progressively including Certification review.
• Any other duties which may be assigned by the QM Manager.
