The Company:
Our client has been one of the largest players on the Norwegian continental shelf for more than forty years. They are one of the largest oil and gas company in the world, with activities in more than 130 countries.

The Role:
This post sits within a project team responsible for the management and delivery of an Oil & Gas Development Project situated West of Shetland in the UKCS. This Project forms a new development hub for the Company and is therefore of high strategic importance.

The post holder will be responsible to the Quality Manager/Site Management team and will provide inspection support services for the verification oversight of the work of vendors, manufacturers and fabricators including inspections in vendor’s works or other areas of work as required. Locations may vary depending on the vendor and international travel will be required as part of this role.

Main Activities:
• Provides technical competence and Inspection verification of works conformance to project requirements.
• Can be utilised in multi inspection situations as required.
• Manage the contractor inspection activities in relation to project requirements.
• Implement QA procedures and ensure QC is maintained to a high standard.
• Monitor the derogation register and non-conformance register to ensure that variations to company standards are treated correctly.
• Supervise, co-ordinate and control QA/QC matters for the supply of materials, prefabrication and construction for onshore and offshore works.
• Ensure procedures and rules are developed and applied according to the latest edition.
• Control and check the specifications, requisitions, design, procedures, manuals etc for compliance with company standards.
• Conduct review of QC documentation generated in support of contractor’s activities.
• Liaise with Quality Manager and project team members on a daily basis providing feedback on performance of contractor/sub contractor.
• Arrange 3rd Party inspection to ensure fabrications and procurements meet company requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent
• Extensive relevant experience gained in QC/Inspection within Oil & Gas Industry
• Knowledge of welding, NDT and metallurgy
• Experience of application of Quality Assurance Systems

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Familiar with relevant national and international codes & standards
• Member of a relevant professional body
