The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
Job Purpose
This is a new position that will be responsible for administering and monitoring the Quality control of product through all phases of build.
Liaison with Launch/NMO/CVE/Manufacturing Engineering as required to confirm critical and significant product characteristics and process parameters.
Responsible for confirming which process parameters and product characteristics will be inspected, how these results will be recorded, and confirmation of reaction plans when out of control and out of specification conditions exist. These controls will be recorded in Control Plans. Maintenance of these plans is the responsibility of the position holder.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Responsible for identification of critical and significant product characteristics and process parameters. Analysis of DFMEA/PFMEA’s required to ensure that these are identified correctly.
Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of Manufacturing Control Plans.
Responsible for the analysis and application of testing and inspection procedures.
Responsible for the completion of measurement systems analysis on new and existing equipment. Responsible for the management of any required improvement activity.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of documented work instructions to support control plan achievement.
Responsible for the calculation of statistical capability on identified critical and significant characteristics.
Production support – use of problem solving and quality improvement tools and techniques.
Responsible for management of continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility. This particularly applies to statistical capability of critical and significant characteristics.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Good general knowledge of a plant operating procedures to ISO9001, (or equivalent recognition)
Excellent working knowledge and experience of FMEA and Control Plan theory and practical application
Proven ability to acquire and analyse data to facilitate problem solving and process improvement
Experience with problem solving and continuous improvement tools and techniques
Understanding of human factors and motivation
Excellent communication skills
