The Company:
Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

The Role:
The Quality Engineer will be involved in the Management of quality on projects including the production of quality documentation deliverables

Advice and production of quality related documentation for corporate, divisional, project and tendering purposes.

Assessment on the effectiveness of the Company QMS on behalf of the Business Systems Manager

Guidance and advice to new recruits

Carrying out internal and Supplier audits

Advice to Marketing and Sales on inspection and quality matters during the preparation of tenders

The Quality Engineer will carry out Supplier Evaluation

Day to day management of procurement contracts up to £1m

The Quality Engineer will be Responsible for the acceptance of manufactured components on behalf of the Projects Quality & Compliance Manager

Responsible for the direct liaison with project managers and organisation of workload

Advice and production of quality related documentation for corporate, divisional, project and tendering purposes


Advice on quality related matters

•Review of Supplier quality documentation

The Quality Engineer will be involved in the preparation of Quality Control Plans

Preparation of Quality Programmes

Conduct Supplier assessments

Preparation of Corporate and Project Specific Procedures

Assessment on the effectiveness of the Quality Procedures on behalf of the Projects Quality & Compliance Manager

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A recognised qualification in an engineering discipline such as an ONC, HNC or HND

CSWIP 3.1 (preferred)

The Quality Engineer will have more than 5 years experience within an engineering environment, with good practical experience such as an apprenticeship.

Knowledge of Quality Assurance and inspection requirements as required by the nuclear or other high technology industry.
