The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a Quality Coatings Inspector for a long term contract overseas

Rotation: 6X2
Location: Baku
Accommodation/flights/Per Diem: Provided
Day Rate: Negotiable, net paid deal

To support quality activities during the coating of line pipe at the appointed contractors facilities and to ensure the project has oversight and verification of application quality. The successful candidate will also be responsible for inspection activities and will carry out checks and reviews of in house inspection in accordance with the requirements of the approved inspection and test plan (ITP).

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the quality team, to actively contribute to the performance of the group in terms of coating applicator oversight and subsequently site activities
To support the Quality manager and assure that all project quality requirements are adhered to by the coating applicator
Verify that all quality records are compiled in a suitable manner and format for handover to the project
To schedule regular meetings with the coating applicator so as to monitor progress and to define problem areas and resolve issues, meeting minutes will be produced and circulated
To support the quality manager in related audits to ensuring technical integrity is delivered.
To review and ensure implementation of coating applicator procedures and documents
To review coating applicators ITP’s and quality related documents
To work with the project and the coating applicator to resolve issues relating to quality and inspection
To ensure that comprehensive level 2 procedures are followed by the coating applicator
To monitor the contractors approved ITP’s and to directly co-ordinate/monitor any applicable inspection activities so as to ensure that the work meets the specification requirements.
Produce daily and weekly summary reports and to raise areas of concern directly to the quality manager and the pipeline engineering group
To raise in a timely manner all and any technical issues that may impact quality in the coating mill and in particular those which may impact pipeline construction in the field subsequently leading to the potential for pipeline lay delays or stoppages

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
ACADEMIC/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
10 years Senior Painting and coating Inspector, Levels 2 or 3
ICorr, NACE or other equivalent and approved coating inspection certification (advantage).
Effective communication skills, both written verbal Professional attitude in acting as the representative of the company with the coating applicator and others
5 years Quality assurance within a coating environment

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Previous experience working in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries.
Quality assurance experience
Supplier and contractor management experience
Previous experience of managing contractors while in the client role
