The Role:
Mission:
The increasing complexity of QA/QC certification requirements and the associated regulatory framework requires a highly organised and technically competent QA/QC professional to support project activities. The main challenge to the project teams is to ensure that project activities are carried out according to the Company rules and procedures and that the confidentiality of the information is maintained at the level required. The identification and adoption of best practices in engineering and project execution is an important objective of the role, as is the development of strong and positive relationships with Project Manager, team members and contractor representatives.

As such the incumbent will:
• Co-ordinate and control all QA/QC & document control activities within the Project and ensure that they are carried out in accordance with Company procedures and recommendations and statutory requirements.
• Maintain highly effective communication links with Project Team members, other Company contacts, key contractor representatives and Verification body.
• Assist the Project Manager in the control of projects from a QA, QC and Document Management perspective.
• Manage Project Quality Engineer(s) and 3rd Party Inspectors.

Activities:
• Develop the overall Project Quality Plan to ensure that standards are met.
• Pro-actively liaise with appropriate SHE, Technology and Operations teams to ensure their input to Projects’ quality activities.
• Effectively monitor the SI 913/825 Independent Competent Person verification activities.
• Manage the Company inspection team – in relation to Project activities.
• Implement QA procedures and ensure QC is maintained to a high standard.
• Monitor the derogation register and Non-Conformance register to ensure that variations to Company standards are treated correctly.
• Supervise, co-ordinate and control the QA/QC matters for the supply of materials, prefabrication and construction for onshore and offshore works.
• Provide effective technical assistance to the Project Team on all QA/QC matters.
• Ensure procedures and rules are developed and applied according to the revision frozen at sanction.
• Control and check the specifications, requisitions, design, procedures, manuals etc. for compliance with Company Standards.
• Conduct review of QC documentation generated in support of the Contractor’s activities.
• Arrange 3rd Party Inspection to ensure fabrications and procured items meet Company quality requirements.
• Manage Project audit programme.
• Recruit and manage Project Quality Engineer (s) and inspectors as Project reaches execute stage.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent).
• Post qualification experience in QC/Inspection within Oil & Gas Industry.
• Knowledge of welding and NDT.
• Knowledge of metallurgy.
• Experience of application of Quality Assurance Systems.
• Familiar with relevant National and International Codes & Standards.
• Qualified Lead Auditor.
