The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
To oversee and control the company’s quality management system. To oversee and manage the quality strategy of the organisation to facilitate continuous improvement of products consistent with the established industry standards and customer requirements. To promote ‘Right First Time’ philosophy. Assure the effective implementation, maturity assessment and improvement of all processes along the entire value chain to improve customer satisfaction and increase profitability in a safe working environment across the local business.

• Promote the company’s quality policy statement
• Provide quality interface and expertise between the company and its customers to proactively identify and anticipate their needs and expectations to ensure that they are understood and satisfied
• Monitor, maintain and improve the current quality management system and ensure continuous improvement in all areas
• Ensure compliance with the quality procedures company-wide
• Develop and implement a Quality organisational structure capable of supporting the strategic initiatives of local plant and regional quality and lead the efforts to integrate the quality needs in to the development of short and long term improvement plans
• Develop a thorough understanding of quality to all relevant colleagues as part of their personal development
• Develop, analyse and publish statistical data and process/product specification to determine standards and proposed quality and reliability requirements for the finished product
• Provide expertise in Quality Assurance and process improvement tools/methods
• Support the management of performance and provide development opportunities to all within the team
• Represent the company on all quality related issues
• Responsible for the effectiveness and efficient running of the Quality Department
• Ensuring the Quality Management System conforms to the latest ISO9001 standard – including acting as the company’s representative
• Produce test certificates as required
• Works with local management team to set coherent and aligned priorities and targets across the entire value chain, monitor progress, analyse Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and act on deviations from targets
• Deploys the standard quality improvement approach (i.e. 4Q) within all areas of the local organization to continuously improve business practices and performance
• Drives application and development of group-wide best practice frameworks across the entire value chain to embed a culture of excellence in operational performance
• Ensures (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates
• Other duties may have to be undertaken which will be determined by the Company, taking in to account the current level of responsibilities, experience and capabilities

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering qualification
• Understanding of ISO procedures
• Interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy
• A high standard of communication skills, written and verbal
• Understanding of Total Quality Management
• A demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement methods
• Proven experience of Lean Manufacturing including Six Sigma methodology (Green Belt)
• Auditing qualification
• Knowledge of PPAP, ISIR, FMAA, 8D
