The Role:
Working closely with Honda UK Manufacturing (HUM) in Swindon or HUM’s Tier 1 & 2 suppliers, you will play a key role in ensuring quality improvement of automotive parts and sub-assemblies. You will be assuring the quality of inbound and dispatched goods handled by HTE to ensure any actual or potential quality concerns are minimized, contained and eradicated by the development and application of countermeasures based on root cause analysis.

During new model introductions you will be supporting the quality assurance of parts and sub-assemblies from supplying regions supporting adherence to specification, design level and drawings in line with the implementation cycle.

Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Lead and control parts quality problem resolution, using activities such as:
o Containment, including customer visit.
o Inspection, either directly or with 3rd party inspection company.
o Root cause analysis, including 3rd party testing if required.
o Establishment of countermeasures.
o Ensuring documentation required by customer is completed on time.
o Performance review and monitoring of development using HTE’s Total Quality Management (TQM) management system.
•Establish and maintain centralised files for all parts drawings and specifications.
•Manage and maintain electronic drawing storage, receipt and access.
•Check and develop inward packaging with suppliers to look for efficiencies.
•Demonstrate appropriate commercial awareness in all business activities ensuring that HTE’s commercial position is adequately safeguarded at all times.
•Support the Supplier Quality Development Specialist in auditing timing plans of new model, ensuring project plan is regularly reported to management and correct agreements are signed with customers and suppliers.
•For new model and or new business introductions support the Supplier Quality Development Specialist in tracking and analysing control items such as:
o Build Data, Capacity Studies, Capability Studies, Part Quality reporting, Design change tracking

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Person Specification: Essential Skills & Experience required
•Engineering background
•Managing the quality resolution process from the reporting of the concern and containment through to countermeasure confirmation
•Volume manufacturing, to include mass production volume verification
•Ability to check and verify parts against CAD drawings
•Supplier Quality Assurance
•Extensive problem solving, focused on determining the root cause
•Full UK driving license and the ability to travel without restriction

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

•Automotive manufacturing experience
•Knowledge of BOM and parts structures
•A recognised qualification in engineering (eg mechanical engineering, electrical engineering)
