The Role:
Position Summary

This role supports key functions for production system and risk analysis for GEMS market and credit risk, compliance. It also performs trading strategy analysis, validation of deal valuation models, and development of new risk analytics and valuation models.

Key Accountabilities
• Responsible for the assessment and implementation of quantitative controls, processes and procedures for Company's independent middle office/risk management oversight of global energy marketing and shipping (GEMS) as guided by the established governance processes, policies and procedures.
• Utilize analytical and quantitative methodologies for daily risk monitoring, financial and transaction modeling, and valuation.
• Develop, calculate, and validate the daily statistical/risk analytics for natural gas, global oil and LNG trading and risk management
• Monitor, maintain, debug, and improve daily production runs, deployed tools, and reports. Develop diagnostic procedures, data structures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of various reports.
• Perform scenario analysis, stress testing, and back testing of models to assess the impact of commodity price movements, potential future exposure, credit risk metrics, and liquidity risks, gross margin at risk, and support regulatory and compliance requests.
• Validate and maintain asset valuation models. Develop models for long and short term price, volatility of market curves to support portfolio valuation and management decisions.
• Familiar with Endur, ZEMA, ROME and other future applications as required by the business.
• Research and monitor industry best practices and apply quantitative and statistical techniques to assist in the development of effective risk limit.
• Work with the front office and originators to interpret and analyze complex risks of the business portfolio, including long term structured contracts, to determine the appropriate modeling to ensure accurate valuation and risk assessment.
• Develop integrated web based reports.

Experience Needed:

Basic Qualifications:
• MS degree in computer science, operation research, physics, applied math, physics, mathematical finance, economics, finance, and/or statistics.
• Minimum three years of experience in an energy trading and risk management organization.
• Exhibits a fundamental understanding of trading, risk, trading influences, deal structures and types, P&L, mark to market, position reporting, and credit evaluation.
• Programming experience in SAS, Matlab.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in SQL, Microsoft products (ACCESS/Visual Basic), and data modeling are strongly preferred.
• Exposure to Bloomberg, ZEMA, Endur, ROME and various internet sites for obtaining price and commodity information. Familiar with web based technology, such as, HTML Java scripts, and XML is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize several tasks simultaneously.
• Detail oriented, able to work independently and to collaborate with other team members and departments.
• Strong follow-through, capability to be independent from front office and deliver important information to management in a timely manner; must be able to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated initiative and creativity in problem solving.
• Excellent quantitative skills and knowledge in economics, statistical methods, or operations research required. Strong foundation and modeling capabilities in the valuation of derivative products including forwards and futures contracts, simple and exotic options, structuring energy transactions for natural gas, oil, and LNG commodities.
Special Features
• The job holder may need to support daily production run at Company's disaster recover site in Dallas in the case that the current office is not accessible during natural disaster
