The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
Fircroft have been asked to source a Quantity Surveyor to work closely with Estimators across the Upstream section.

• Work directly with the CSG project owner
• Long term contract (12 to 24 months)
• Attractive Brisbane CBD location

The Quantity Surveyor will review and provide assessment of contractor estimates and claims. Working for the project owner you will be required to have strong communication skills and to effectively liaise with internal and external parties.

Typically, the incumbent will control construction costs on the project, as well as reporting on job progress and cost control.

Responsibilities:
• Develop a basis to interrogate contractor estimates
• Review and challenge contractor estimates
• Control construction costs by accurate measurement of the work plant and materials
• Understand the implications of design at an early stage
• Undertake cost planning, cost analysis, site measurements for progress payments and variations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, or equivalent years experience
• Knowledge and understanding of both business and engineering principles
• Experience working on greenfield projects in the Oil & Gas industry in a similar role
• Knowledge of relevant project control systems - Excel, Que$tor, @Risk, MS Project, Primavera P3

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Chartered member of a relevant professional organisation
