The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
An opportunity has been created for a Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial direction, strategy, leadership and support Business. This role will ensure that commercial requirements are fulfilled throughout all project tender and delivery phases. This person will initially be supporting a growing
business and will be required to support a HVDC project.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Contract Manager and Project Engineers to ensure
business and project standards, as follows:
· Provide the necessary commercial service to fulfill their contractual obligations
regarding notices and valuations as prescribed by various forms of contract and subcontract.
· Undertake take off works to prepare full bill of quantities in accordance with NRM2 and
amendments due to Compensation events.
· Monitor civil cost changes.
· Coordinate and manage Early Warnings, Compensation events and quotations and approval
processes.
· Provide detailed estimates in support of CE’s and for internal submissions.
· Draft commercial tender documents for subcontractors and provide structured feedback as
necessary.
· Maintain knowledge of and understand civil engineering build methodologies, materials and
plant.
· Provide all commercial duties necessary to manage selected subcontractors, manage and
forecast all financial data and report internally.
· Understand the contractual requirements of project documents including the roles and
responsibilities of all involved and the notices required to record change and contract
administration.
· Assist the project team with the strategy and detail required for the defense/application of
contractual claims. Advise the team during claim negotiations.
· Provision of commercial reporting to project teams and management.
· Maintain cost and valuation reporting procedures.
· With the support of relevant management and technical disciplines, negotiate and settlement of
claims and final subcontract accounts.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
· Sound UK Civil Construction Industry Experience
· Degree qualified in relevant discipline e.g. BSc in Quantity
Surveying, Commercial Management or Cost Engineering etc.
· Chartered membership of the RICS (MRICS) or equivalent
e.g. MACostE, MCICES, or working towards.
· Detailed knowledge and experience in standard methods of
measurement.
· Experience of Quantity Surveying in Civil and Building and
M&E environments.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
· Demonstrable experience of NEC3 Option B
· Demonstrable experience of NRM2
