The Role:
Responsibilities:
• Verify installed quantities and equipment and verify accuracy with construction. This is done by commodity (steel, concrete, etc.).
• Support validation of contractor field progress.
• Review Basis of Quantities to identify any developing trends of quantity growth or reduction and agree with budget holder and/or other responsible stakeholders what provision should be made in the final forecast as unapproved changes if such trends were to continue
• Develop quantity installed curves
• Monthly reporting as needed
Other Quantity Surveyor responsibilities may include but limited to:
• Cost planning and commercial management throughout the entire life cycle of the project from inception to post-completion
• Value engineering
• Risk management and calculation
• Procurement advice and assistance during the tendering procedures
• Commercial management and contract administration
• Assistance in dispute resolution
• Asset capitalization
• Interim valuations and payment assessment
• Cost management process
• Assessing the additional costs of design variations
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 3 – 5+ years experience
• Familiar with reading/interpreting engineering drawings
• Construction planning / scheduling
• Understanding of earn value and rules of credit for field construction
