The Company:
has major operations in the world’s most important oil and gas regions. They are leaders in working in extremely difficult environments such as ultradeep water.

The Role:
Position will be rotation in Soyo and subsequently offshore on 28/28 basis. Main responsibility will be to manage the Contractor work that is being executed on a T&M basis for the SPP Recovery and Commissioning campaign. They will work closely with CM and PE on the planned and actual execution. Their primary responsibility will be to ensure the identification of commercial risks and trends, and minimization of cost growth.

As the Quantity Surveyor, you will monitor the Contractors performance and ensure they properly implement all contract/commercial requirements at the construction location and that Company’s exposure to Variations, Delay Events, Delay Notices and Claims are factually supported.

Responsibilities and Requirements
• Monitor the construction Contractors performance of its contractual obligations and the Contractors Subcontractors and/or Suppliers
• Identify any non-conformance by the EPC contractor in its execution of the Work and record such failures and their implications in the Claims database.
• Verification of physical quantities in the field to allow detailed preparation of estimates of costs for work (VOWD)
• Administer and update the claims management register with support from Paris Contracts team.
• Develop counter arguments to potential Claims identified or notified by the EPC Contractor and ensure that support for future use of these arguments is included in regular correspondence and in response to Contractor communications on the respective subject
• Evaluate ongoing correspondence and records of conversations etc to identify potential claim positioning
• Responsible for “Onsite” commercial aspects of projects from appraisal and validation of subcontractor invoicing applications.
• Good knowledge of construction and commissioning
• Experience within the oil and gas industry, Onshore Fabrication, offshore Installation and commissioning
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Good financial and numeracy management skills
• Excellent communication and negotiating skills
• The ability to absorb complex information and asses requirements readily
• Computer literate in Excel, word and Access.
• Preference for working knowledge of Primavera.
• Ability to read in interpret schedules.
• Substantial experience in adjudication, report writing.
• Cost Valuation Reporting (VOWD v Actuals)
• Ensure the identification of commercial risks and trends, and minimization of cost growth

Minimum Education and Qualifications
• High School degree or equivalent minimum required. Preferred advance college degree in business or engineering.
• Min 8 years experience in project controls and quantity survey work
• Min 5 years experience in oil and gas industry
• Physically capable for work offshore in extreme conditions and able to pass BOSEIT training (to be completed after hire if not current)
