The Role:
QUARANTINE SUPERINTENDENT – BARROW ISLAND, WESTERN AUSTRALIA - $$ ATTRACTIVE – 12 MONTH CONTRACT - LONG TERM PROJECT

We now have an opening for a Quarantine Superintendent to be responsible for the onsite supervision of the implementation of the Gorgon Project quarantine management program for BWI based Gorgon construction and facilities commissioning work scope. The Quarantine Superintendent is responsible for on-site monitoring and reporting of quarantine performance, compliance with Ministerial approval conditions, regulatory requirements and company/project standards and ensures quarantine risks are managed appropriately.

The job:
- Supervision and leadership of Barrow Island (BWI) based Quarantine Team.
- Coordination and provision of quarantine management implementation advices (technical and compliance) to the BWI based construction and commissioning teams.
- Scope includes assisting in emergency response and third party and regulator incident investigations and follow-up, and facilitation of sharing of lessons learned across the Project teams.
- Interface with Department of Environment and Conservation staff, other regulatory agency staff visitors/inspectors on BWI, and WA Oil in regard to Gorgon Project sites/scopes and whole of island quarantine issues.
- Senior Gorgon Project BWI quarantine focal point for on-island HES, other functional teams and government agencies, responsible for maintaining alignment as well as communication and networks to ensure project quarantine objectives are met.
- Provide focal point for functional interface with Gorgon Quarantine team.
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship and communication with other site team members, advise areas of concern and take an active role in implementation of necessary actions. Will be required to work flexible rosters across 7 days, day and night shift.
- Must be eligible to gain security clearance for MSIC.
- Must have a drivers licence
- Other duties as required.

Essential requirements of this role:
- Minimum 5-10 years experience in quarantine and knowledge of Australian Quarantine import requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a key member of a remote site team. Preferably have worked in similar environment
- Tertiary Qualifications in Agriculture, Horticulture or Environmental Studies or demonstrated equivalent experience in a related industry.
