The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

We are looking for a Project Manager - Execution to work for a refinery in Sarnia, ON.

The Role:
Working in the CEC (Central Engineering and Construction) department as a Project Manager your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

•A safety leader who drives the application of the site LPS program with a focus on flawless safety execution of projects, including:

On-going personal use, and contractor verification of the LPSA tool
Completion of scheduled LPO assignments and supervisor feedback sessions
Completion of NL / L Investigations related to project execution activities

• Drive project ownership and accountability through:

Seamless progression of project execution responsibilities, including project plan, estimate, and schedule development, stage approval, detailed engineering, contracting / procurement, field execution, mechanical completion, facility Start-Up, Operations turn-over, and project closure deliverables and activities
Full oversight and management of projects with a focus on safety, design quality, budget, schedule, and change control (FCN, DCN, PCN) process compliance
Compliance to GP’s, GII’s as part of project development and detailed engineering activities
Contractor management and performance oversight to ensure scope expectations are achieved (Eng / Const)
Full compliance to Capital Projects EMCAPS, OIMS, and CIMS work processes and procedures
Execution alignment with CEC Project Development and Project Controls groups
Interface between CEC and Business Units to support progression and completion of Business Team related project deliverables
Regular CAPEX project updates to support monthly / quarterly project stewardship reports

• Deliver on TQA compliance for assigned projects and be accountable for:

Driving quality of execution deliverables in all project development / execution stages per CEC TQA oversight process
Overall development and ownership of field quality execution plan to support construction activities
Ensuring “Readiness for Next Project Stage” through application of required CEC TQA oversight checklists

• Other areas of responsibility:

Individual project set-up in SAP, including service / material requisitioning and monthly cost tracking relative to approved Gate 3 estimate
Project cost, schedule, field execution, and timesheet alignment with assigned Construction Field Supervisor
Coordination of time commitment agreement with Business Unit Leaders on required non CEC site resource project support (PP development)
Completion of assigned WebCat computer based training as per the assigned schedule
Timely submission and reporting of monthly expenses (as required) through eSpeedbuy

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering Background
Strong Project Management Experience, preferably in the petrochemical sector
Previous supervisory / leadership experience in a heavy-industrial (preference is petrochemical) environment preferred

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
1) 10-15 years of experience.
2) Project Management Experience required.
3) Refinery / Chemical Plant experience strongly preferred.
4) Direct experience with an Oil & Gas company strongly preferred.
5) Experience in E&I projects would be an asset.
