The Role:
The IRD is currently seeking a Refining Eng. II (in the Area Engineering group) at the IRD (Illinois Refining Division).

Candidate will provide project leadership and provide mechanical/civil engineering support to the assigned area team and coordinate the completion of the area team’s engineering requests. Additionally the area engineer will manage and support capital and expense projects as required. The Area Engineer will also fulfill all departmental requirements.

Guidelines of duties and responsibilities include the following as well as other duties as assigned:

• Recommending mechanical and civil engineering area improvements by answering questions, communicating issues, and managing area projects as the subject matter expert for assigned area team.
• Coordinating the Engineering effort and acting as a liaison between the Area Team and other departments.
• Supporting Maintenance in the field for any particular job or task they are working on.
• Attending and actively participating in Area MOC and Team Meetings
• Reviewing all projects (i.e. Attend meetings, review drawings) in the specific units or adjacent units.
• Developing and managing engineering controls to remedy safety and environmental items
• Managing projects and deliverables
• Preparing budgets, managing cost estimates, and providing updated forecasts for capital and expense projects.

Education: A Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical is required
• 4+ years post degree engineering experience is preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong MS Office skills, report writing experience, and interfacing with different functional departments
• Highly organized with demonstrated ability to conduct research and write effectively. The ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with individuals at all levels
• Utilizing AutoCad 2012 (or other acceptable means) for drafting of ISO, Ortho, foundations, etc., along with EcoSys (as a Project Management tool), and the PPM Database.

Computer Proficiencies: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Working knowledge in using MicroStation & EcoSys is preferred.
