The Role:
Position Overview:
This position is the leader of an international selling team comprised of local Sales Executives and Sales Managers in charge of a defined product group in the assigned region. This person is accountable for achieving the regional sales and profitability goals of the defined product group.
This role provides direction and leadership to the local sales staff in the region and coordinates the communication and technical support with the principal / supplier.

Reporting Lines:
This position reports to the Regional Manager and the Business Unit Director. For administrative issues, this position reports to the local Managing Director in the country of affiliation.
Local sales staff, local Sales Managers and/or local Department Managers report to this position as far as they are involved in the sales of the defined product group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Responsible and accountable for the sales, growth and profit and loss of the assigned business line in all countries concerned.
•Supervise and coordinate all sales & marketing matters in relation to the assigned product portfolio in the region
•Prepare budget and profit plans for the assigned product line, ensure realization of goals together with local Sales Managers and Sales Executives.
•Conduct joint visits with local sales staff to key clients in order to promote assigned product line.
•Ensure that principal / supplier of the product line is maintained, well informed about the business progress, and good relationship with them is built.
•Ensure healthy stocks & debtors levels together with local Sales Managers, Sales Executives and Sales Coordinators.

•Conduct product trials with lead customers in the region and translate results into sales.
•Pool and structure trial data, success stories, product and application information and disseminate to all local sales operations concerned.
•Grow the region’s revenue and profitability for the assigned product line by actively pursuing new product applications and customer segments within the region.
•Evaluate market trends and gather competitive information, identify trends that affect future growth of regional sales and profitability.

•Prioritize effectively and in accordance with corporate and BU objectives.
•Provide quality leadership for internal and external customers in assigned tasks, while upholding Behn Meyer values at all times: integrity, partnership, customer satisfaction, and passion for performance.
•Establish close regional teamwork and conduct regional meetings and trainings.
•Establish a regional performance culture for sales growth and profitability.
•Sell and teach others how to sell value and solutions, not products.
•Build technical and commercial capabilities of local sales personnel.

•Ensure sufficient manpower is deployed to cater for business requirements.
•Ensure that staff is properly trained and motivated through trainings, coaching, sharing of experience and know-how transfer.
•Provide human resource plan inclusive of talent requirement, appraisal and career development goals of sales personnel and support staff concerned with the assigned product line to local MDs and BU director.

•Receive monthly reports from local sales operations in standardized format..
•Responsible for the region’s forecasting and sales tracking of assigned product line.
•Report progress to Regional Manager, BU director and local directors and MDs quarterly in standardized format.
•Set aggressive targets and devise concrete plans to achieve them on both a regional and individual market level.
•Submit quarterly action plan and travel schedule to BU director and get permission. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Bachelor degree in relevant life sciences.
•Master degree in relevant field or business a plus.

•At least three years of experience in sales management inclusive of leading sales teams.
•At least three years of experience in sales of the assigned product line.
•International exposure and sales experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Proven leadership skills.
•Profound technical knowledge and customer intimacy relevant for the assigned product line.
•Demonstrated record of achievement in a prior sales position.
•Strong closing skills. Prior attendance at formal sales training courses a plus.
•Proficiency of English. Proven oral, written and presentation skills.
•Strong interpersonal skills.
•Entrepreneurial business sense and drive.
