Qatar produces 10 million tonnes per annum of chemicals, polymers and fertilisers, supplying and supporting the growth of a large number of industries around the world. Qatar’s output is planned to reach 23 million tonnes by 2020 due to the continuous investments in the sector. The government is investing $25 billion to expand the industry and build a sustainable and diversified economy. The next decade is set to be the ‘Chemical and Petrochemical Decade’ for Qatar.

The Role:
Manages and controls sales activities of assigned territories & products to ensure provision of prompt and efficient service to customers.
Actively participates in the planning and formulation of long and short term sales strategies for the region. Negotiates directly and participates with Client's agents in negotiations and formulation of sales contracts with customers. Prepares budgets and forecasts and monitors product consumption in the region to ensure that they are as budgeted and forecasted. Represent Client's at various regional exhibitions, meetings, conferences and seminars.

• Delivers sales budget (volume and price) for area of responsibility.
• Establishes and maintains contact with existing and potential customers directly or through network, to identify sales opportunities and product requirements.
• Builds up a customer profile with assistance from Global Network and Product Manager. Profile to include all information about the type of operation, use of product, local commercial and market environment, etc. Recommend to Global Sales Manager Polymer for appropriate sales strategy.
• Proposes and assists Global Sales Manager Polymer in the planning of long, medium and short term sales strategies. Includes studying the assigned region and formulating policy proposals for long term sales based on available products and market requirements.
• Negotiates sales contracts in accordance with approved Client's policy guidelines. Discusses with potential and existing clients their requirements in light of product availability, discusses provisions, incl. quantity, quality, price, duration of contract, shipping terms, price revisions, phase out procedures, payments, etc.
• Gathers information on and monitor competitors’ activities (prices, procedures, credit facilities, etc.) in the assigned region and recommends appropriate analysis to the Product Manager in formulating marketing strategy to maintain Client's competitive edge.
• Directly involved with Agent/Global Network in dealing with emerging problems and recommends to Global Sales Manager Polymer for immediate and long term solutions for improving performances.
• Ensures that Agent/Global Network and customer adhere to all contracted commitments to Client's with respect to supplies to the region.
• Attends regional industry conferences, seminars and exhibitions. Regularly visits assigned areas to establish and develop strong and direct relationships with customers.
• Coordinates and be informed of the activities in other regions and assists other Regional Sales Managers Polymer by assuming of the region in their absence.
• Participates in screening and appointment of new agent/distributor/office process and evaluates performance of the existing agent/distributor/office.
• Advises to improve, implements and follows all Quality procedures.
• Supervises and evaluates the activities of personnel in the assigned Sales area. Performs supervisory duties and exercises financial authority at the level established by management for the position.
• Develops the sales budgets for the region.
• Control pricing structures for assigned regions based on the approved Price Guideline.
• Manages all aspects of performance of sales contracts. Ensures maintenance of records on key contractual conditions and documentary requirements for each product sale, for processing, storage or special storage agreements and ensures compliance by all parties.
• Coordinate with Technical Customer Support to provide technical support to all Client's customers in assigned regions.
• Conducts periodic regional performance reviews and takes appropriate actions as necessary.
• Manages allocation of all assigned products in regions.
• Participate in development of existing and new products based on market needs and opportunities.
• Identifies suitable avenues for sales promotion through participation in exhibitions, seminars, conferences and symposia to boost Client's international image.
Conducts customer visits as required to achieve sales targets.
• Develops a customer database for the countries in assigned region with assistance of Global Marketing Network
• Coordinates and facilitates customer complaints until its final resolution as per defined procedure and policy.
