The Company:
An oil and gas operator located in downtown Houston

The Role:
• We are looking more for a Regulatory Manager or Advisor who is really experience from a state and federal level. Someone who will be able to advise the client what permits they should or should not need to go in and drill wells in the Gulf of Mexico States (onshore).
• Coordination with professionals in land, drilling, completions and field operations for the completion, and filing of all government, state and federal, regulatory and compliance documents for the Exploration areas of interest.
• Responsible for the evaluation of regulatory compliance issues in new and existing operating areas as well as assisting in the development of compliance systems/documents to ensure ongoing compliance and communication to other team members.
• Responsible for understanding current regulations and tracking proposed regulations and identifying potential impacts.
• Conduct self-audits of permits, notifications, annual reporting and non-compliance correction.
• Maintain database and tracking of all regulatory correspondence.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• High degree of independent thinking and initiative
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of staff and management
• Develop business relationships with professionals at regulatory agencies to ensure knowledge of rules and compliance requirements
• Aggressive research ability required
• Detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet critical deadlines
• Ethical, professional demeanor
• Flexibility to work in a fast paced environment

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• College degree preferred or experience equivalent
• Minimum of 10 years of oil and gas regulatory/compliance experience
• Familiarity with state and federal rules and regulations pertaining to regulatory filings in Gulf of Mexico States.
• Experience with relevant databases
