The Company:
Our Client is a leading Oil & Gas company.

The Role:
Leading Oil & Gas Company is looking for a Surface Support candidate to join the Regulatory Affairs department to perform day-to-day regulatory support of certain offshore producing assets.

The Role:

Direct day‐to‐day regulatory support for Gulf of Mexico producing operations
• Advise technical experts, engineers, operations staff and management on regulations.
- This may includes participating on teams and coordinating among several internal
disciplines to either proactively or reactively address compliance/non‐compliance issues.
• Incident of Non‐Compliance responses
• Interpreting federal rules for internal guidance and impact on business
• Advising on facility process changes (operating assets – management and engineering)
• Advising HSSE technical experts on external regulations and practices
• Participate in training to ensure compliance
• Author standards and various internal guidance documents
• Identify new or emerging technologies or processes that may be compliance related
• Identify innovative ways of complying that may give a business advantage
• MOC reviewer as an Subject Matter Expert (SME) for facility design regulatory compliance
• Mentor new engineers with respect to governmental procedures and issues
• Integrate what is sometimes seen as an external bureaucratic function into an aligned and
integral part of the supported asset teams
• Offer creative solutions to regulatory requirements
• Develop regional internal positions on various new technologies and the implementation of new
• Analyze governmental views and opinions and demonstrate flexibility by creatively finding ways
to comply.
• Influence future regulatory requirements, commenting on proposed rulemaking,
implementation of final rule making via various industry groups and external governmental
• Work processes – directly responsible (position does require work outside of these processes
upon demand)
• Focal point and SME for all GoM flaring and venting problems, issues and decisions with respect
to government regulations
• Focal point for Offshore Bypass standard
• Focal point (SOI and SPLC) for all structural/civil regulatory issues regarding new practices,
regulations, assessments etc
• Platform installations and removals
• Site clearances
• Focal point for Hydrogen Sulfide issues in the Gulf of Mexico
• Focal point for remote operations issues in the Gulf of Mexico
• Direct day‐to‐day support for TLP’s and WD 143 for waivers and departures and extensions for
regulatory compliance requirements.
• Back up focal point for fixed structures support as above

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualified candidates should possess the following requirements:

- Engineer or Technician with process operations or 5-10 years offshore operations experience in production operations, pneumatics control repair or HSSE.
- Knowledge of the offshore GoM operating world
- Problem solving ability to maintain compliance with regulations, eliminate down-time and unnecessary cost expenditures, and analyze projects/operations, identify areas of opportunity while maintaining compliance.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in Team settings
- Self starter
- Extensive knowledge of API RP 14C- Recommended Practice for Analysis, Design Installation, and Testing of Basic Surface Safety Systems for Offshore Production Platforms.
- Extensive knowledge of 30CFR250 subchapter H- Oil and Gas Production Safety Systems.
- Additional knowledge to a level of skill or awareness of a variety of offshore Safety, Environmental, and Maintenance of offshore operations.
