The Role:
Position provides regulatory support for Colorado and New Mexico oil and gas operations based in Aztec, New Mexico. Works closely with San Juan Regulatory Specialist to address backlog of unresolved regulatory issues and filings. Develops applications for and acquires permits from the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division, Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, Bureau of Land Management, Native American tribes, and local governments. Works directly with these regulatory agencies to resolve issues with applications and well compliance.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Working knowledge of regulations required to drill, produce, rework and abandon oil and gas wells, water disposal/injection wells, and surface facilities in southwest Colorado and northwest New Mexico. Experience in preparing and filing documents with the identified regulatory agencies.
Communication Skills - Ability to convey complex regulatory requirements in clear and concise terms to internal customers. Interacts with a wide range of functions within company including technical engineering, legal, land, production accounting, and various levels of management. • Negotiating Skills - Interacting with officials from the identified regulatory agencies to obtain the most fair and favorable permitting conditions. • Organizational Ability - Ability to work independently and organize multiple activities while delivering timely results to operations and project managers.
