The Company:
Our client, an international major oil and gas operator, seeks a Regulatory Approvals Advisor to join their team.

The Role:
• Position provides regulatory support for Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas oil and gas operations based in Houston.
• Counsels operations staff and project managers on regulatory requirements needed to drill, produce, rework and ultimately abandon oil and gas production wells and water disposal/injection wells.
• Develops applications for and acquires permits from the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Railroad Commission of Texas, Kansas Corporation Commission and Bureau of Land Management.
• Works directly with these agencies to resolve issues with applications and well compliance.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of regulations required to drill, produce, rework and abandon oil and gas wells and water disposal/injection wells in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas.
• Working knowledge of regulations associated with oil and gas operations on Bureau of Land Management surface or mineral properties.
• Experience in preparing and filing documents with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Railroad Commission of Texas, Kansas Corporation Commission and Bureau of Land Management.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Communication Skills - Ability to convey complex regulatory requirements in clear and concise terms to internal customers. Interacts with a wide range of functions within COMPANY including technical engineering, legal, land, production accounting, and various levels of management.
• Negotiating Skills - Interacting with officials from the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Railroad Commission of Texas, Kansas Corporation Commission and Bureau of Land Management to obtain the most fair and favorable permitting conditions.
• Organizational Ability - Ability to work independently and organize multiple activities while delivering timely results to operations and project managers.
