The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
The Regulatory Compliance Advisor is responsible for supporting the projects organization in maintaining full regulatory compliance. This includes tracking of internal and external compliance deadlines and ensuring reports are filed on time. Supports the project's environmental compliance tracking, reporting and stewardship activities. Scope of this job covers several oil sands projects occurring within Alberta.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Maintain a running schedule of required government notifications and reports and regularly communicate this schedule to the project team. Contacts authors preparing regulatory compliance reports (EPCM and EPC contractors, Client) to ensure that all the project’s regulatory reports are filed on time, and keeps a running log of reports to be filed and their status
• Follows up with the regulatory agencies on the status of reports filed
• Supports the environmental and regulatory team in collecting information related to regulatory compliance reporting and environmental data (GIS)
• Assists the Project Management Team in understanding applicable environmental laws, regulations, codes, guidelines, and permit/license/authorization/approval conditions throughout the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) and detailed engineering phases and into construction
• Provides regulatory and environmental technical support to design and execution engineers and construction teams as required/requested
• Coordinates internal regulatory compliance and environmental performance assessments and readiness reviews, including external Regulatory Compliance Assessments
• Located in the Calgary office

Limited travel to field locations, to participate in regulatory compliance assessments, may be required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Excellent organizational skills
• High degree of persistence required
• Knowledge of oil sands environmental and regulatory framework
• Excellent Excel skills
