The Role:
PRIMARY ROLE OBJECTIVES
In line with business need, to monitor and analyse the regulatory environment in which the company operates in order to identify risks, new obligations and opportunities with the intention of assisting in ensuring the company and its clients (where applicable) meet all of their regulatory and licensable commitments. To manage and deliver identified regulatory returns in a timely and accurate manner, consistent with companies industry commitments and requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES
To monitor, analyse, interpret, report (and where applicable take the lead) and become the point of expertise for new and existing regulatory requirements within the areas in which the business operates, including but not limited to:
National Grid
Elexon
DECC
Xoserve
Joint Office Of Gas Transporters
Ofgem
To ensure that company is meeting the requirements of all licence conditions and industry commitments, including but not limited to:
Monitoring existing requirements and potential new requirements
Providing analysis and summaries of those commitments and conditions
Providing GAP analysis on any existing or upcoming change requirements
Provision of management reporting
Liaison with the relevant company departments to ensure handover and understanding of any existing and new requirements
Close liaison with the General Manager and Project Risk Manager on specific projects and areas of work.
To work closely with the relevant company departments to ensure timely and accurate returns of industry information, including but not limited to:
National Grid
Elexon
Ofgem
HMRC
DECC
To work closely and positively with other members of the company in order to assess and deliver support to individual departments and personnel on identified activities.
To be recognised as a business representative for providing responses to industry consultations and modifications and for representing the business in the appropriate forums.
To ensure accurate and timely management reporting on all identified key business commitments, projects and activities.
As required, completion of ad hoc projects, secondments & reports for personnel and business sections throughout the company.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Demonstrable competency in numeracy and literacy.
Degree qualified or studying for a related subject such as Legal, Finance, Business Studies, Economics, Securities or another commercial subject.
Experience:
Relevant work experience & contribution gained in a busy, commercially and customer-focussed environment. E.g. Finance, legal or trading.
Experience of collecting, manipulating, analysing and presenting data using various means – e.g. Excel.
