The Role:
Actively contribute to maximizing production uptime and minimizing business losses associated with topsides plant and equipment.
Eliminate defects in a prioritized and structured manner to prevent recurrence of equipment failures by rigorous implementation of the formal continuous improvement processes.


Agree Top 10 Loss and Vulnerability areas with asset/hub, then develop & recommend corrective or preventive action plans and implement where appropriate.
Perform root cause failure analysis and then recommend corrective or improvement actions and implement where appropriate.
Agree the Production Critical Equipment for each asset, then recommend and/or implement maintenance, monitoring or spares improvements to increase its reliability.

Drives plant / equipment reliability by :-
Developing and maintaining Reliability, Availability and Maintenance Models for all assets, which defines the production criticality of equipment. Maintaining the list of Top 10 Defect Elimination Priorities and drive the associated improvement plan actions.
Leading/facilitating RCFA reviews for production loss and equipment breakdown events, develop and implement improvement actions.
Leading the Continuous Improvement Process for Generic Maintenance Strategies in the asset/hub/region.
Monitoring asset health and analysis of condition monitoring results to determine appropriate interventions and improvements.
Defining the repairs and spares strategies. Developing or validating business cases for spares holding.
Supporting the asset teams with the development and operation of System Ownership
Develops asset/hub RCFA capability by involvement in RCFA’s and facilitates further internal training
Leads certain discipline specific issues across the Region, driving the RCFA and the improvement actions, using the formal regional CI processes.

Shares lessons learned with the other Regional Reliability Engineers and actively searches out other segment or external lessons learned that may be applicable
Networks with other Segment Reliability Engineers and Maintenance Engineers to share best practices
Engage with Regional Project and Modifications team to review and optimise the reliability of their plant design and specification, together with aligning their processes for operations.
