The Role:
The Reliability Engineer’s prime responsibility is the prevention of critical equipment failures and elimination of defects in a systematic and sustainable way. The Reliability Engineer is the technical focal point for issues regarding initial systems fit-for-purpose acceptance process, maintenance regulatory compliance, availability/reliability of equipment systems, equipment and process quality assurance, equipment operation, and equipment preservation.

• Develop and manage systems that ensure deployment equipment reliability and availability targets are being achieved.
• Establish maintenance strategies and objectives for preventing and eliminating critical failures during preservation and deployment modes of operations by applying quality management, reliability, risk management, and life cycle asset management methodologies.
• Facilitate the operational reliability and quality management continuous improvement process and coordinate maintenance asset team.
• Supports reviewing the preventive maintenance plan as part of the 5- yearly review cycle, utilizing risk and reliability management (RRM) processes.
• Identify, document, and maintain inventory of critical spares.
• Setting the best fit activity frequencies.
• Position will be the custodian of the maintenance strategies, responsible to evaluate and identify opportunities to improve the application of condition based maintenance (CBM) and condition monitoring (CM) strategies.
• Reviews SAP preventive maintenance task lists to ensure they are fit for purpose, and in compliance with the Maintenance Performance standards / procedures and instructions.
• Identify and highlight equipment deterioration at an early stage to initiate adequate actions.
• Lead design review and receiving team evaluations of equipment prior to acceptance.
• Lead reviews of process and equipment failures, using structured problem solving techniques such as root cause analysis and 5-WHY’s.
• Apply life cycle costing (LCC) methodologies to support reliability and maintenance decisions.
• User and custodian of the reliability and availability models.
• Give reliability and maintenance support to future projects and modifications ensuring good quality reliability & maintenance deliverables for hand-over.
• Create Reliability/Availability reports by collating and analyzing data from the SAP database and various maintenance management system tools.
• Ensure the change management process is followed and tracked accordingly.
• Facilitate distribution and integration of lessons learned from design reviews, receiving inspections, and risk management findings

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering degree, Mechanical, Instrumentation or Electrical, and an understanding of equipment and dominant experience in reliability and maintenance engineering in the oil and gas industry.
• Good knowledge of Maintenance methodologies like RCM, FMEA and CBM.
• A team player with good interpersonal skills and a service provision mindset. Comfortable working with auditors, third party operators and external verifiers and regulators.
• The ability to develop and share networks, and identify and deliver quick wins is essential, as are self-performance management skills.
• Must have the skills to communicate in English, verbally and on paper.
