A Major Supplier and Manufacturer of Plastics and Resins Within the Industrial Sectors (based in Johor, Malaysia)

The Role:
Responsibility (Action)
- Achieve business objectives for unit production and assist businesses in meeting AC objectives.
- Participate in the facilitation and implementation of the Root Cause Investigation (RCI) process and serve as Subject Mater Expert (SME) on the application of the cause and effect methodology for reliability incidents.
- Implement the appropriate Most Effective Technology (MET) that drives reliability and SHE improvements.
- Develop and maintain a model of the unit operations, equipment, process, etc. that identifies the value of opportunities for improvement where applicable and supported.
- Develop and maintain the Reliability Opportunity List (ROL) for the facility.
- Evaluate and quantify the impact of projects, such as equipment reconfigurations, design changes, equipment quality, operating discipline, PPM strategies, etc will have on ability to meet business needs.
- Evaluate effectiveness of the PPM program by showing quantitatively the impact of failures and associated PPM.
- Participate in Facility Assessments and efforts to implement corrective action, which maintain or improve plant condition.
- Apply long term cost of ownership and reliability engineering principles to design reliability into purchasing requirements.
- Use long term cost of ownership and reliability engineering principles to define spare parts strategy.
- Develop and implement operating discipline (OD) that will improve reliability.
- Identify future equipment improvements that will be classified as expense projects.
- Participate in outside asset reliability benchmarking efforts as directed by the businesses in your area.

Expectations
- Use reliability engineering principles (such as but not limited to Weibull, RCI, FMEA, Meridium) to improve production losses and long term cost of ownership of the facility.
- Serve as the team leader for all incidents, where reliability opportunities are identified and where the RCI triggers for reliability are met.
- Validate RCI solutions/corrective actions and assesses their effectiveness for preventing recurrence.
- Work with the Technical Resource to drive MET implementation and compliance.
- Identify gaps between facility strategy, equipment strategy, reliability model, and existing plant performance to provide input to the facility opportunity list. This long term cost of ownership evaluation can be as simple as an Excel spreadsheet, or as complicated as a detailed reliability model.
- Establish value for the reliability opportunities, utilizing facility asset utilization, facility efficiency and maintenance cost data.
- Serve as Maintenance Project Representative on significant projects within the facility to ensure smooth integration and efficient.
- Participate in FEED and VIP activities as appropriate; Process Simplification, Value Engineering, Maintenance Strategy, Reliability Modeling, etc
- Facilitate development of equipment maintenance strategies on equipment identified on the prioritization list.
- Supports teams involved in these efforts.
- Provide equipment reliability and performance data for evaluation of equipment performance, vendor performance, and modifications to MET
- Consult as needed with Maintenance Managers/Engineers/Technologists, PPM Coordinator and Inventory Controller to establish spare parts program.
- Ensure operators/production personnel are trained on the startup, shutdown, and operation of all plant equipment to insure reliable operations.
- Ensure appropriate operational equipment procedures exist.
- Provide input / prioritization for future equipment improvements in developing the maintenance budget.
- Insure the 5 year turnaround plan and 5 year project plan are maintained up-to-date.
- Provide detailed information on company’s equipment to outside asset reliability benchmarking efforts (i.e. Solomon Study, etc).
