The Role:
As an integral part of the offshore leadership team you will be responsible for supervision, guidance and work direction to the platform maintenance team, ad-hoc maintenance technicians and vendor specialists. You will lead and actively participate in the area of behavioural based safety observation.

Championing continuous improvement in system and equipment reliability and maintenance philosophy and supporting continuous equipment reliability will be essential. In addition, you will participate with the offshore leadership team and onshore support teams to ensure the efficient planning and safe coordination of all work activities on the installation which contribute to the overall delivery of business plan objectives.

Key Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure that routine maintenance and rectification activities are carried out in a safe manner
• Ensure that cost effective maintenance of topside, subsea and (where relevant) marine plant and equipment is carried out in accordance with the Operational Excellence Management System and in compliance with Installation Safety Case & Statutory Legislation. Ensure inspections/audits are carried out as per plan
• Ensure work is adequately risk assessed, free of conflict and aligned to platform objectives and executed in accordance with applicable procedures
• Manage subsea, topside and (where relevant) marine maintenance to optimize Asset production performance in alignment with safety, quality, environmental emission, waste management and production goals
• Monitor and take appropriate action to ensure that maintenance related targets are met or exceed in such areas as equipment reliability, system availability, productivity and compliance with verification scheme
• Actively initiate and lead Root Cause Analysis processes following equipment failure or losses
• Proactively seek and share lessons learned and best practices
• Continuous improvement in system operating procedures and maintenance routines
• Provide reliability and maintenance input to guide prioritization and development of engineering change
• Carry out emergency duties as outlined in the relevant Offshore Emergency Procedures Manual
• Actively contribute to developing emergency response competency
• Develop/maintenance competency in order to carry out relief OIM duties as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Maintenance and reliability experience (equipment reliability, system availability, productivity and compliance with verification scheme) preferably gained in a variety of operating environments. Prior experience in a maintenance related supervisory position would be beneficial
• Qualified Deputy OIM under UK regulations -OR- demonstrated potential to achieve competence in the Management of Major Emergencies
• HNC / HND in an Engineering discipline (preferred)
• NVQ Level 3 Supervisor (preferred)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Candidates from a Marine Engineering background should have suitable qualifications and experience in the systems / equipment specified below;
o Chief or 2nd Engineer qualifications
o Crude Oil or LNG Tankers
o Diesel Power Generators (Wartsila or similar)
o Inert Gas Systems
o Ballast Systems
o Crude Oil Storage and offloading Systems
o Diesel Fire Pumps (Caterpillar, Sulzer or similar)
o FRAMO Hydraulic Pumps / Controls
o Turret Hydraulic Systems / Controls
o Kamewa / Rolls Royce Thrusters / Controls
o Heading Control Systems
o Utility Systems – Air / Water / Diesel / Hypochlorite
