The Company:
Progressive forward thinking company, working on various nuclear contracts, winning new design work packages all the time. Our clients deliverables include full 2D and 3D design, stress analysis and FEA, together with all relevant documentation throughout the project stages.

The Role:
• Generate Optioneering Studies to assess the capabilities of current technologies to segment the Dragon Core assembly remotely
• Prepare system and equipment Requirement Capture for the preferred process
• Liaise with Intelligent Customer and discipline team leads
• Qualitative and quantitative risk assessment and design assumptions for the available remote decommissioning technologies available on the market
• Prepare system and equipment Level specifications of remote decommissioning solutions for Scheme design review
• Prepare 2D orthographic Design Proposal Drawings in AutoCAD based upon technical data of available technologies, and to identify where modifications to COTS equipment may be necessary to fulfil the requirements associated with the needs of the preferred core segmentation methodology
• Compile system level FMEAs to assess the remote recovery associated with the modules / equipment
• Produce Design Justification Reports and Requirement Verification and Validation Reports to aid in Safety Case development
• Ensure compliance with the ILW Export, EC&I, ARM and HF philosophies associated with the preferred core segmentation methodology

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience of remote operations essential within a high hazard environment
• Experience of remote operations within the Nuclear decommissioning sector preferred
• HND (Technician) or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
• A registered Incorporated or Chartered Engineer within an appropriately recognised Engineering Institute
• Proven ability to work within a team, and has a focus on delivering quantitative engineering reports within specified timescales and quality and technical standards
