The Company:
a leading independent international oil and gas exploration and production company, with operations in the North Sea, Middle East and Asia is looking for non local engineer to be assigned as Reservoir Engineer Advisor

The Role:
• Support Subsurface Manager in formulating Subsurface Team objectives / work plan
• Responsible for mentoring and development of Res Eng/Petroleum Eng staff, participate in recruitment of new staff
• Provide support for drilling campaign
• Participate in the design/analysis of formation evaluation and reservoir surveillance and reservoir management activities
• Support and advise at monthly well information pack meetings on production optimization opportunities for producing fields
• Focal point for mercury surveillance and mercury management for fields
• Support Exploration group via contribution to DST design, execution and post well evaluation
• Participate in “gated” Project Development Process for next field developments
• Provide reservoir engineering input for development plan (POD) preparation and submission, work with facilities and project teams through FEED / project sanction
 Major Challenges (optional)
• Develop a relationship of trust and mutual respect with Subsurface Manager and with the existing Subsurface Team (assist in overall team performance improvement)
• Share accountability for all petroleum engineering work conducted by the Indonesian BU
• Ensure petroleum engineering knowledge is integrated with the other subsurface disciplines; drilling, production and operations specialists; project teams; local and functional management.
• Participate and provide strong support in the planning, execution and post well evaluation of the wells in the 2014 – 2015 drilling campaign. Key items include review of data from logs; selection of pre-test pressures and samples; DST planning and advice during execution; and post well evaluation within 30 days after the end of well.
• Provide support for new fields, during the clean-up and initial baseline well tests to the rig and during early production period. Specifically data acquisition on productivity, depletion, completion efficiency of the frac packs and contaminant levels (mercury, CO and H2S) in the gas.
• Oversee generation of reliable field reserves estimates and production profiles to meet BU and corporate requirements (year-end reserves, Field Book, SKKMIGAS annual reserve report etc);
• Participate in producing fields reservoir monitoring and optimisation, including intervention programmes to maintain gas deliverability and optimise recovery;
• Update mercury management plan if any significant changes in mercury levels from producing fields.
• Provide DST planning, execution and post well evaluation support for Block exploration wells
• Reporting to Subsurface Manager
• Functionally reports to Chief Reservoir Engineer

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Petroleum Engineering Degree (or similar)
• Membership of professional and industry bodies
• Significant (>15 years) post graduate experience in Upstream Oil and Gas (exploration & production), ideally including experience with an Operator (operated and non-operated projects)
• Managing / optimising fields under gas supply contracts, with gas reservoir management in mature, complex (multiple reservoir / fault block) fields, and a track record of supervising / QC of multi-discipline field evaluation projects
• Able to easily integrate with local staff with proven ability to coach and develop other staff, including Nationals. South East Asia experience highly regarded
• Classical reservoir engineering skills, with substantial experience of dynamic modelling, history matching and sensitivity analysis
• Knowledge of production engineering, production operations, well servicing, drilling and project engineering
• Track record of proactively proposing / implementing successful reser

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Familiarity with hydrocarbon resources estimation and reporting; knowledge of the 2007 SPE PRMS;
• Familiar with reservoir surveillance and interventions
• Fluent with network modelling and production forecasting (MBAL, Prosper, GAP), and extensive reservoir simulation experience, including history matching and development optimisation (ideally using Petrel-RE / Eclipse)
• Fluency in Eclipse, Petroleum Experts and risk management software;
• Strong working knowledge of fluid properties modelling and PVT – dry gas, retrograde condensate, black oil
• Familiarity with a “gated” Project Development Process;
• Currency with latest industry innovations,
• Interfacing with project teams through FEED / project sanction, production operations, drilling/well service teams, exploration and commercial teams
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills; comfortable taking a “back seat” re primary management, but nonetheless using highly developed influencing skills to uplift individual and tea
