The Company:
An established international oil & gas operator in HCMC, Vietnam.

The Role:
Work with an international E&P operating company in Ho Chi Minh City for 6 - 12 months. A high level of technical competence is required and needs to be able to work with a minimum of supervision to tight deadlines. Strong presentation skills are necessary, as is the development of good working relationships with JV partners and Petrovietnam.
The successful applicant will be based in HCMC and can expect a competitive expat package.
Key Accountabilities:
• Analysing available reservoir engineering data: well tests, pressure data, PVT, core etc. from discovery, appraisal and development wells, to be used as the basis for the reservoir modeling.
• Working with the geologist to incorporate the geological model into the reservoir simulation model.
• Working with the geophysicist and geologist to optimise the reservoir model, the subsurface development plan and selecting appraisal and development well locations. Well planning.
• Preparing well designs, logging, casing, coring and testing programmes in conjunction with the geologist, operations geologist and drilling group
• Working with the geologist while drilling the development wells and advising on any changes to the programme that may be required as a result of unexpected geological events
• Monitoring production data during the field life and working with operations personnel to optimise field production rates and recovery, updating the reservoir simulation model when required.
• Presenting to JV partners and Petrovietnam and establishing good working relationships with them.
• Mentoring junior staff

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•BSc or MSc in a relavant engineering or earth sciences discipline
•Experienced user of Petrel, Eclipse, MBal and/or Saphir, proficient in utilising reservoir simulators, material balance and well test programmes
•10 - 15 years international Reservoir Engineering experience
•South East Asia knowledge well regarded, as is team coaching and mentoring experience
