The Company:
A global oil & gas company with an exploration program in Australia that is focused on a combination of large long term LNG/FLNG projects and oil opportunities with near term production possibilities and/or very large upside volume/value potential.

The Role:
We are currently hiring a Reservoir Engineer to join their Perth office - the key objectives of the role includes:
•Support projects through technical assessments across existing exploration portfolio, new block and/or country entries and discovered resources.
•Contribute to the multi-disciplinary Exploration Team providing full reservoir engineering input, including numerical simulation, well test interpretation, PVT analysis, material balance, well design and production optimization.
•Establish a reservoir strategy through the full lifecycle, from exploration and appraisal through to development planning.
•Create fit for purpose development scenario’s including well count, rates and production profiles. • Work with extended team members in drilling, facilities, other subsurface disciplines and economics to assess development solutions and complete economic evaluations.
•Participate in technical meetings with other groups, government bodies and the national oil company.

Core Accountabilities:
•Conduct the basic reservoir engineering data analysis, which includes the integration of SCAL, core analyses and PVT data.
•Produce scoping level development plans, formulating well count, rates and production profiles using fit for purpose techniques and analogues.
•Develop plan for reservoir testing, evaluation and interpretation activities
•Conduct reservoir simulation or network modelling studies designed to define the optimum full field reservoir development plans (primary, secondary, and tertiary depletion scenarios).
•Assess the key Reservoir engineering risks and opportunities associated with the development and develop an uncertainty management plan to mitigate the risks and harvest potential upside.
•Work within an inter-disciplinary team to build and quality control field evaluations.
•Collaborate with exploration and facility disciplines on potential opportunities for field appraisal and development planning.
•Plan, prepare documentation and presentation materials.
•Plan and manage studies by geological service contractors in a time and cost-efficient manner.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Higher Degree (MSc, PhD.) in Petroleum Engineering or related subject.
• Minimum 7+ years broad international experience in reservoir engineering, a substantial part of which should be with operating oil companies. Exposure to a variety of reservoirs and hydrocarbon phases – a diversity of asset experience is preferred.
• Experience of industry standard reservoir engineering software (Eclipse, Petroleum Experts, Saphir , etc).
• This position will involve technical presentations. Potential candidates must therefore have highly developed team working and communication skills, coupled with the ability to think on their feet and the confidence to defend their position in the face of criticism from other groups.
