The Company:
The Company’s activities include 1,100 square kilometers of oil sands leases in Northern Alberta where we are currently developing a 10,000 bbl/d SAGD facility. We currently own interests in several exploration, development and production licenses offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

The activities on all acreages will increase and the Company is now seeking new Reservoir Geologist staff to strengthen our high calibre teams. We are looking for people who have the courage to set ambit

The Role:
Working closely with our reservoir engineering team, this position will focus on the evaluation of analogue oilsands projects as a basis of comparison with Company's SAGD bitumen properties and their potential wrt production and performance forecasting.

• Integrate all available subsurface data into a geological model for oilsands evaluation. This includes the calculation of bitumen pay, porosity, permeability, barriers to steam flow, facies distribution and reservoir characterization.
• Create accurate subsurface maps of bitumen resource for both Company's and competitor oilsands properties.
• Integrate well logs (including imaging logs), facies interpretation, core and test data to build geological interpretations and to understand depositional environments.
• Identify top and bottom thief zones (gas and water), lean zones,IHS and bitumen zones and their effect on reservoir performance and production.
• Work in harmony with a muti-disciplinary team of professionals and in particular with our reservoir engineer.
• Effectively use Company Tools including Landmark products and RMS.
• Identify and evaluate main uncertainties.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
• Minimum of five years experience in subsurface mapping and facies distributions, preferably within the oilsands region of northeastern Alberta.
• Must have a solid understanding of SAGD reservoirs within the McMurray formation of northeastern Alberta.
• Must have excellent presentation skills.
• Must be well organized and technically competent.
• Must be able to interface with a wide variety of professionals within a matrix organization.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be a motivated self starter.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Independent work ethic and at the same time, ability to be a strong team player with a “hands on” attitude to cooperate effectively in a matrix organization;
• The candidate must be a self-starter and be able to handle multiple projects at multiple phases, concurrently
• Excellent written and oral command of English
• Occasional travel and future relocation possibilities
