The Role:
The vacant Reservoir Engineering Manager position exists in a multi-disciplinary team responsible for bringing a significant deep-water discovery in Angola from appraisal into development and ultimately production. The ongoing development planning comprises comprehensive static and dynamic modeling to enable assessment and selection of optimal development scenarios and recovery mechanism(s), conceptual and detailed facilities and well and completion design. Facilitation of seamless integration between surface and sub-surface engineering is expected. The Reservoir Engineering Manager will help facilitate the finalization of a fully operable development strategy to be documented in the Field Development Plan.
During project execution, the Reservoir Engineering Manager will routinely present and defend technical work as part of internal and external peer reviews. Likewise, participation in reviews of similar projects is expected.
In addition to the recurrent field development work, screening and assessment of business opportunities is expected to take place on an ad-hoc basis. This work typically includes visits to data room, screening and analysis of available reservoir engineering data, impact analysis in the event of absent data and quantification of value and risks.
The Reservoir Engineering will report to the Manager of the Petroleum Engineering Department comprising also Geoscience, Drilling and Commercial disciplines.

The successful candidate will:

•Enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary environment leading a significant team of reservoir engineers
•Drive the delivery of the field development plans and the design basis. Ensure design basis is realistic and fully operable, taking into consideration the full range of subsurface uncertainties. Define the optimal field development plans and strategies that also consider the license-wide opportunities.
•Ensure close and effective collaboration of all the critical interfaces between surface, subsurface, drilling & completion. Ensure delivery of high quality field development plans under tight deadlines
•Steer and support implementation of the extensive development (pre) drilling campaign leading to field startup. Carry the project through field start-up and handover to operations, including implementation of the fit-for-purpose reservoir management and surveillance plans
•Conduct effective engagements with JV and stakeholder subsurface teams
•Perform and/or facilitate valuation of reservoir engineering data during data room visits
•Provide general reservoir engineering expertise and know-how to internal business acquisition teams
•Manage the reservoir engineering staff and their professional growth
•Possess initiative and strong analytical and communication skills, including fluency in spoken and written English

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•5-20 years industry experience as a Reservoir Engineer is required.
•Prior Management Experience Required
•Have 5-20 years of experience with implementation and operation of one or preferably several significant deep water field development plans, including turbidite reservoir characterization, depletion planning & management strategies including secondary or enhanced recovery, well density and placement that exploits the reservoir architecture, well completion with sand control, well integrity management
•Have experience with preparation of the entire suite of reservoir engineering data for simulation purposes (e.g. rock mechanical data, SCAL data, PVT data, lift curve generation and Pressure Transient Analysis)

Required Education:
•BSc level (as a minimum)
