The Role:
Production/Reservoir Engineer who is assigned technically challenging, strategically important projects related to the identification and enhancement of hydrocarbon production opportunities and/or operations. Incumbent may direct others in completing projects. Will report to the Production Subsurface Manager but will be assigned to specific asset team(s) for day to day optimization and continued development of the producing properties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Working with geologists and geophysicists, prepares reserve reports and production forecasts on assigned properties as needed. Reviews and summarizes work to management and outside auditors for approval. Demonstrates multitasking skills, handling increased project volume and more complex problems with minimal supervision.

Handles broad scope projects, when assigned, to (1) identify associated opportunities to maximize project and/or property value, (2) facilitate understanding by all other relevant colleagues, and (3) take action to implement his/her recommendations.

Interacts well with representatives of other departments.

Gathers and organizes various types of data such as production, geologic, core, log, PVT, well test, BHP, geographic, environmental, etc.

Gathers and organizes various types of information such as equipment specs, government regulations, operating agreements, permit approvals, technical publications, guidelines, reports, etc.

Uses gathered data to (1) locate, quantify and produce hydrocarbons, and (2) troubleshoot and/or optimize wells, producing equipment and systems for profitable recovery of hydrocarbons.

Acts as a lead representative of Company at various inter-divisional, partner and industry meetings.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May direct a subsurface team consisting of geologists, geophysicists, and other engineers on assigned projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Requires a B.S. in Engineering and minimum of 10 years of upstream Petroleum Industry experience.

OTHER SKILLS

Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software. Proficient in an economic analysis software package such as Aries. Proficient in a production systems such as Nodal Analysis software package.
