The Company:
Our Client is looking for a Rig Auditor Manager to lead of a team of Rig Auditors working in support of their Global Wells Organisation operations, responding to audit requests for offshore drilling and production assets. The role has a global remit, travelling to all of the company’s assets globally to perform the required audits to assess equipment on drilling rigs against standards, document gaps and communicate matters to senior management.

The Role:
- Manage a number of auditor direct reports as delegated by the Director of Rig Auditing.
- Coach auditors within their teams to develop their technical skills, matching their assignments to their individual skills.
- Develop the efficiency of the auditing process and the capability of the auditing staff.
- During audits lead and assist other auditors in the identification and development of systemic findings from emerging issues.
- Lead the development of conformance/capability assessments based on evidence gathered during the audit.
- Clearly outline the gaps that exist between current operational practices and compliance with company requirements and industry standards.
- Influence the key stakeholders and senior personnel to ensure understanding and acceptance of findings and enable appropriate actions to be written and implemented.
- Engage with the business before, during and after the audit; driving the planning process and managing the assigned audit team.
- Drive high performance in rig audits promoting collaborative work and energising people by motivating and inspiring others to succeed.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Degree and/or professional qualification in relevant operationally focused discipline.
- Significant post qualification/after degree hands on Operations and Management experience in the drilling industry.
- Auditing of Drilling facilities/rig experience preferred.
- Offshore/Onshore drilling facility experience in a managerial or supervisory position is essential.
- Safety and Health certificates to allow offshore work.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Broad technical experience and advanced knowledge of own technical discipline, and an extensive working knowledge of other discipline areas specific to drilling facilities/rigs.
- Knowledge and understanding of international drilling industry standards such as API, IEC, Classification Society Rules.
- Strong safety leadership and understanding of safety management systems.
- Proven team leadership skills with excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to influence at senior levels and motivate team members.
- Ability to think strategically, balancing competing priorities, understanding and aligning objectives with business strategy.
- Experience of report writing, delivery of presentations and chairing of meetings.
