Our Client is a Leading Global Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The Role:
Purpose of role:

The post holder owns and is responsible for developing and maintaining the rig intake assessment and rig audit processes required for executing the rig assessment and audit activity under Group safety and operational risk (S&OR) Audit scope. The role reports to the Director S&OR Audit, Process and Planning.
The S&OR Audit rig assessments and audit scope includes pre contract and IAT (Integrated Acceptance Testing) assessments as well as rig audit revisits.
The role shall drive consistency in assessments and auditing using the defined processes required to deliver high quality reports. The processes include assessment and audit protocols and procedures with close collaboration with WER (Well Engineering Rigs) to ensure assurance of new rigs to fleet as well as auditing of rigs already in the Integrated Rig Schedule worldwide. The role is also responsible for and conducts the quality assurance of reports before issue. There will be a continuous need to update audit protocols and processes as current policies and requirements are being restructured, in particular our client’s Drilling and Well Operations Practice (DWOP).
The post has no direct reports, however, the holder will have work closely with and get assistance from other members of the Process and Planning team.

Key results / accountabilities expected from role:

• Develop and maintain rig audit handbook and protocols gaining input from key stakeholders and maintain the rig audit SharePoint site.
• Design and assist implementation of assessments/auditing products and protocols; these to be aligned with revisions of requirements and with revisions of the assessment/audit processes. Work with owners of these requirements to ensure that these are made auditable. Prepare material needed for the S&OR Rig Audit websites.
• Revise protocols and change processes when new requirements are issued.
• Lead the overall audit quality assurance (QA) process. Manage the post audit QA of rig assessments and rig audits as well as the issuance of reports.
• Monitor the rig assessment and audit processes to identify opportunities for improvements and simplification and manage projects to deliver process improvements; this includes facilitating work groups of S&OR auditors, subject matter experts (SMEs) and Global Engineering Rigs (GER).
• Identify needs and develop guidance/training in the use of the auditing products, including the rig assessment and auditing protocols, to embed their application into the process and deliver guidance/coaching/training to the S&OR rig audit team members.

Other relevant information:

• Contribute to the audit planning and process team’s efforts to deliver quality assessments and audits covering the agreed scope.
• Networking with the 40+ rig auditors who are based in remote home locations in UK and US.
• Working with the Rig Audit Director and internal co-ordinators to ensure products are available and socialized with the auditors.
• Relationship management on all process matters across S&OR working across a number of levels.
• Working with Rig Audit Director to ensure utilisation of auditor involvement as appropriate to improvement activities.
• Identifying and securing of additional resources as required for particular process improvement projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Technical degree

Experience (years and nature)
• Broad operational leadership experience.
• Experience in upstream businesses beneficial, specifically Drilling and Completion.
• Preparation of procedures/manuals/guidance material/training material.
• Influencing and networking at different levels within the organisation.
• Analyzing processes and identifying opportunities for improvements, making case for change and engaging stakeholders to implement change.
• Auditing experience beneficial.

• Some familiar with Operator Clients and Industry requirements for drilling rigs.
