The Company:
Our Client is looking for a Rig Auditor (Rig Equipment) to be part of a team of Rig Auditors working in support of their Global Wells Organisation operations, responding to audit requests for offshore drilling and production assets. The role has a global remit, travelling to all of the company’s assets globally to perform the required audits. This role is worked on a 21/21 days rotation. A fantastic NET offshore uplift is provided with the package for this role.

The Role:
• Liaise with Drilling Contractors and the Global Wells Organisation to work to audit goals / guidelines.
• Ability to gather, analyse and use information and experience to objectively determine and assess the operational drilling and safety risks of a facility.
• Ensure that any findings are fully understood by the Drilling Contractor and the Global Wells Organisation.
• Champion HSE at all times, representing the rig audit group in a professional manner.
• Write accurate and comprehensive technical reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain up to date knowledge relating to new safety regulations, technical standards and industry best practices.
• Ability to effectively review equipment inspection and maintenance records to determine current status and conformance with performance standards.

Broad based experience in drilling operations and practices is a pre-requisite for the post with an expectation that the selected candidate will have spent a significant proportion of time as a Drilling Superintendent / Rig Manager / Well Site Leader / Drilling Engineer with experience of drilling activities, both on and offshore. A background in drilling or platform operations management, or hands-on facilities engineering and maintenance experience at an operating facility is preferred.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to degree level in an engineering or related discipline or Chief Engineer, Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer is preferred.
Offshore survival and health certificates including HUET are essential to allow for offshore work.
Experience as a Technical/Engineering Superintendent, Operations Engineer, Classification Surveyor or Marine Chief Engineer required.
A background in drilling rig or platform operations management, or hands-on facilities engineering and maintenance experience at an operating facility is preferred
Experience in the management/supervision of and or technical support of personnel directly involved in the operation and maintenance of drilling rigs, including: power generation/distribution, propulsion, auxiliaries and drilling facilities.
Knowledge of recognised training and competency standards for personnel involved in drilling rig maintenance activity.
Knowledge of drilling industry standards such as API, IEC, Classification Society Rules, MOD

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in report writing, delivery of presentations, chairing of meetings will be an advantage.
Proven track record as a strong team player and ability to lead a team will be an advantage
Knowledge or experience with mechanised drill floor systems and control systems is an advantage.
A demonstrable technical audit, safety audit or general auditing track record as an audit team leader will be an advantage.
