The Company:
Our client is a major oil and gas operator who has operations throughout the world. These roles on offer are home based with extensive travel (50%) to offshore and onshore sites worldwide. My client offer a technically challenging environment with fantastic career opportunities in global group.

The Role:
We are seeking industry experts within the drilling operations arena to join an oil and gas operator's global audit team to travel to offshore and onshore rig sites to conduct audits. Due to the nature of the work this job is run on a 21/21 working rotation.

Rig auditors lead and/or work in teams on a wide variety of assignments focused on the identification and mitigation of the critical safety and operability risks impacting on business delivery. The successful candidate will participate in drilling rig audits and rig acceptance processes onshore and offshore at worldwide locations. This would be in support of the Drilling and Well Operations Practice and Engineering Technical Practice assurance processes. After a period of “on the job” training the candidate will lead audit teams or conduct specific task based assignments and or research work as the lead role.

The individual will lead audit teams, ensure completion of the audit report and report back to the Global Wells Organisation on recommended actions arising from the audit. The appointee would then follow up to verify closure of any recommended actions. Members of the rig audit group are involved in pre-contract rig selection processes and rig contractor evaluations plus other relevant rig related activities that support our business.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum qualification is HND/HNC in an engineering discipline.
Experience as Senior Toolpusher, Drilling Superintendent, Rig Manager, Well Site Leader or Senior Drilling Engineer essential
Site Leader or Senior Drilling Engineer essential
Extensive experience in drilling operations management is essential.
Experience in the management/supervision of and or technical support of personnel directly involved in drilling operations, engineering and planning essential
Broad based knowledge of drilling engineering, operations and practices
Knowledge of deepwater operations, well control techniques and HPHT wells is preferred.
Knowledge of drilling industry standards such as API, etc
Knowledge of recognised training and competency standards for personnel involved in drilling operations

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to degree level and Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer in an engineering or related discipline is preferred.
